Oops, Wrong Girl to Bully

Chapter 133*

Angelina’s POV

“Right on time,” Derek said. He looked tired. Dark circles under his eyes.

“You look like shit.”

He laughed. “Thanks. Haven’t been sleeping well.”

“Why?”

“Work stuff. He pulled out of the parking spot. Started driving. “Nothing you need to worry about.”

I didn’t push. Just watched the city fade behind us as we headed north.

We drove for about an hour. The buildings got smaller. Then disappeared completely. Just mountains and forest.

“So,” Derek said. “Let me explain how this works.”

“Go ahead.”

“There are over two hundred candidates this year. Mix of werewolves and humans. The humans don’t know about the werewolves, obviously.”

“Obviously.

“The training lasts seventy-two hours. Survival skills, combat assessment, actical scenarios. They’ll be evaluating you constantly.”

“How many get accepted?”

“Thirty.” Derek glanced at me. “That’s it. Out of two hundred.”

I didn’t react. Just nodded.

“These are elite candidates,” Derek continued. “Military veterans, ex-law enforcement, trained fighters. People with years of experience.”

He paused. “You’re the youngest candidate we’ve ever had. By a lot. If you don’t make it this year, that’s completely normal. You can try again when you’re older.”

‘I’ll make it.”

Derek smiled slightly. I believe you will. But I want you to know there’s no pressure. This is just to get you familiar with the process.”

“Sure,”

We drove in silence for another twenty minutes.

Then Derek spoke again. His voice was more serious.

“If anything feels wrong during the training, call me immediately.”

“Define wrong.

“Unsafe. Unethical. If someone’s targeting you specifically. He reached into his jacket. Pulled out a small phone. “This is untraceable.

Emergency use only. I don’t care what time it is. If you need me, call.”

I took the phone. Put it in my pocket.

I’m serious, Aria. These candidates are competitive. Sometimes overly so If anyone gives you trouble, I want to know.”

“I can handle myself.”

“I know you can. But humor me.”

looked at him. His expression was genuinely worried.

‘Fine. I’ll call if something happens.”

Derek relaxed slightly. “Good”

We drove for another hour. The roads got narrower. More remote.

Finally we turned onto a dirt road. It wound through dense forest for about ten minutes.

Then we came to a gate. Chain-link fence. Guard station.

Derek stopped. Rolled down his window.

A man in military fatigues approached. “ID.”

Derek handed over some documents. The guard looked them over. Then looked at me.

“She’s the fifteen-year-old?”

“Yes.”

The guard stared at me for a long moment. Then handed the documents back. “Go ahead.”

The gate opened. We drove through.

The compound appeared through the trees. Large buildings that looked like old military barracks. A training field. Obstacle courses.

About fifty vehicles were already parked in a lot near the main building.

Derek pulled in. Turned off the engine.

“This is it,” he said. “The training starts at noon. You have about thirty minutes to check in and get settled.”

I grabbed my backpack. Got out of the SUV.

Derek got out too. Walked around to my side.

Remember what I said. Anything feels wrong, call me.”

I will.”

He looked like he wanted to say more. Then just nodded. Good luck.”

I watched him get back in the SUV. Drive away.

Then I turned toward the main building.

More vehicles were pulling into the parking lot. People getting out. Saying goodbye to whoever had driven them.

I walked toward the entrance.

Oh my god, is that her?”

The voice was familiar. I stopped. Turned my head slightly.

A white Mercedes SUV was parked three spots away. The passenger door bened.

Tansy Rodriguez stepped out.

She was wearing designer athleisure. Sunglasses pushed up on her head.

She saw me. Her mouth fell open.

“You have GOT to be kidding me.”

The driver’s side door opened. A woman got out. Blonde hair pulled back ghtly. Athletic build. Maybe twenty-three or twenty-four.

She looked at Tansy. “What’s wrong?”

“That!” Tansy pointed directly at me. “That’s the Omega’s daughter I told you about!”

The blonde woman’s eyes moved to me. Studied me for a moment.

“Her?” The blondes voice was neutral. “That’s Aria Sterling?”

“Yes! Can you believe she’s here?” Tansy walked around the front of the Mercedes. Coming toward me. “This is insane. This is literally insane.”

Tansy stopped about ten feet away. “What are you doing here? Seriously. What are you doing at a special operative selection?”

I just stood there. Waiting.

“This isn’t a joke!” Tansy’s voice got louder. ‘People train for YEARS to get into this program. And you just show up like it’s a field trip?”

The blonde woman walked over. Put her hand on Tansy’s shoulder. Tansy calm down.”

“I will NOT calm down!” Tansy shrugged off her hand. “Saffron, you don’t understand. This girl humiliated my family. Got my dad thrown out of a business dinner. And now she’s here, taking up a spot that someone actually qualified could have had!”

So the blonde was Saffron. Tansy’s cousin. The Gamma from Meadow Pack

Saffron looked at me again. Her expression was cooler now.

You’re the one who made trouble at David Pierce’s dinner?”

I met her eyes. “Tansy’s version might be biased.”

“Oh please!” Tansy took another step forward. “You just wanted attention. You wanted to act tough. But here’s the thing, Sterling. This isn’t

some business dinner where you can hide behind David Pierce.”

She gestured at the compound. This is real. This is dangerous. And you’re going to get exposed for the fraud you are.”

Saffron spoke up. Her voice was calm. Tansy, you need to leave. You’re not supposed to be here past the gate.”

I’m just saying goodbye to my cousin!

“You said goodbye. Now go.” Saffron’s tone left no room for argument.

Tansy glared at me. “Fine. I’m leaving. But Saffron?”
