Oops, Wrong Girl to Bully
Chapter 132
Angelina’s POV
*
David glanced at me. His expression was neutral.
I didn’t say anything. Didn’t nod. Didn’t shake my head. Just looked at him with no emotion.
“Your daughter has a remarkable business mind, Mr. Sterling. She sees opportunities that others miss. It’s a rare gift.”
Nathan frowned slightly. “That’s it? She gave you business advice?”
“Good advice is invaluable in my line of work.” David’s smile was professional. “She helped me see a deal from a completely different angle.
That kind of insight is worth more than you might think.”
Nathan wasn’t satisfied with that answer. I could see it in his face.
But he could also tell the conversation was over.
“I see, Nathan said finally.
David extended his hand. “You should be very proud of her, Mr. Sterling. If she were my daughter, I certainly would be.”
There was something sharp in his tone when he said that. A pointed comment about his own relationship with Logan.
Nathan shook his hand. “I am proud of her.”
“Good. Drive safely.”
David stepped back. Watched as we got into the Ford.
Nathan started the engine. The old car rattled to life.
We pulled out of the driveway. Into the quiet streets.
The inside of the Ford smelled like old fabric and pine air freshener. The spats were worn. The dashboard had cracks in it.
Such a contrast to the mansion we’d just left.
Street lights passed overhead. It was late. The roads were mostly empty.
Nathan didn’t say anything for the first few minutes. Just drove.
The radio was off. Just the sound of the engine and occasional traffic.
Finally he spoke.
“Baby, I need you to be honest with me.”
I looked at him. Waited.

“This isn’t just about being smart in school, is it?” He kept his eyes on the road. ‘David Pierce doesn’t treat high school students as business
partners unless…”
He trailed off. Didn’t finish the sentence.
“Unless what?” I asked.
“Unless there’s more to it.” Nathan’s hands gripped the steering wheel tighter. “Much more.”
I needed to give him something. But not too much.
I helped him with some market research,” I said. “Gave him a fresh perspective on a deal he was considering.
“Market research. Nathan repeated the words slowly. “At fifteen years old.
“Sixteen next month.”
“That doesn’t answer my question, Aria.”
I looked out the window. “Sometimes an outsider can see things that people on the inside miss. Fresh eyes. No preconceptions.”
“Maybe. Nathan was quiet for a moment. “Or maybe he likes that you’re not intimidated by his reputation.”
“Maybe.”
More silence.
Then Nathan spoke again. His voice was more serious now.
“Aria, I’ve done business. I know what respect looks like.” He glanced at me briefly. “What he showed you tonight? That wasn’t just gratitude for
a fresh perspective.”
“You’re fifteen years old. How do you even know David Pierce? When did this start?”
His voice had a slight tremor. “Are you in some kind of trouble? Did you get involved in something dangerous?*
I reached over. Touched his arm lightly.
Physical contact wasn’t something I did often. He noticed immediately.
“Dad, I’m fine. I promise.”
“Aria-
“I met him through some connections. Did some consulting work. That’s all.”
“Consulting work?” Nathan’s voice rose slightly. “You’re in high school!”
1 know what I’m doing.”

Chapter 132*
“That’s what worries me!”

I kept my voice calm. “Some things are confidential. Business secrets. You understand that.”
Nathan’s jaw clenched. ‘No. I don’t understand. I don’t understand how my fifteen-year-old daughter is consulting for one of the most powerful businessmen in California.’
He suddenly pulled the Ford over to the side of the road.
The engine idled. Hazard lights started blinking.
Nathan turned in his seat. Faced me completely.
“I don’t care about the business. His voice was thick with emotion. “I dont care how you met David Pierce or what you helped him with.”
He reached over. Took my hand in both of his.
“I care about you. Are you safe? Are you happy?”
I looked at our hands. His were rough. Calloused from years of hard work!
“I’m safe, I said.
“Are you sure? Because tonight, watching you in that room with all those powerful people… His voice cracked slightly. “I realized I don’t even know my own daughter anymore.”
He wiped his eyes with one hand. Still holding mine with the other.
“When your mother and I decided to have children, I made a promise to myself. To protect them. All of them. But with you…”
He took a shaky breath. “I watched you grow up too fast. Way too fast. And tonight, seeing you with all those executives, all those people who could crush us with one phone call… I realized that whatever you’re doing whatever you’re involved in… it’s bigger than me. Bigger than anything I could protect you from.”
Something tightened in my chest.
This man. This Omega who got treated like trash by his own pack. Who worked terrible jobs just to feed his family.
He was sitting here crying because he was worried about me.
“You protect me every day, Dad.” My voice was quieter than usual. “By being there. By loving me.”
Nathan squeezed my hand. “That’s not enough.”
“It is.”
“No. It’s not. If something happened to you- His voice broke completely. If you got hurt because I couldn’t protect you-
“Dad.” I squeezed his hand back. “What I’m doing… it’s not illegal. It’s not dangerous. I can promise you that much,”

He searched my face. “You’re sure?”
“Yes.”
M
“Then what is it? What are you doing that makes David Pierce treat you like an equal?”
I chose my words carefully. “I’m good at seeing patterns. Understanding people. Making connections that others miss.”
I met his eyes. “That’s why David respects me. Because I’m really good at what I do.”
Nathan was quiet for a long moment.
*If you ever need help,” he said finally. “If you ever get in over your head. you’ll tell me? You’ll come to me?*
“You’d be the first person I tell.”
He studied my face. “Okay.” He took a deep breath. Let it out slowly. “Okay I trust you.”
