Chapter 152*
Angelina’s POV
The four guards stood near the door, Waiting for instructions
I looked at the shackles. Then at the guards.
Then I made my decision.
I walked toward the restraint point. My steps were steady.
The guards shifted, Confused.
I stopped directly under the shackles. Raised my arms above my head. Extended my wrists toward the metal cuffs.
Waited.
The lead guard stepped forward slowly. “You’re… cooperating?”
“Yes.
He exchanged glances with the others. They didn’t understand.
They’d expected screaming. Fighting. Threats. Demands.
Instead I was positioning myself. Making their job easier.
The lead guard moved closer, Reached up. Locked the first shackle around my left wrist. The metal clicked into place.
Then the second shackle around my right wrist. Another click.
My arms were stretched above my head now. Wrists locked in place. Feet flat on the ground.
The position pulled my tactical shirt tight across my torso. The sleeves slid down slightly. Exposed my forearms and wrists.
I tested the restraints. They were solid. No give. Properly installed.
The guards stepped back. All four of them staring at me.
“Target is secured, the lead guard said. His voice was uncertain. “Ready for interrogation.”
But he didn’t move toward the door. Just stood there. Looking at me like he was trying to solve a puzzle.
I didn’t give them anything. No fear. No anger. Just calm patience.
That seemed to unnerve them more than resistance would have.
Finally the lead guard turned toward the door. “We’ll get the interrogator.

But before he could teach it, the door opened.

A figure stood in the doorway. Tall. Wearing the same black tactical gear the guards but somehow different. More authority in his posture
All four guards immediately snapped to attention. Their entire demeanor changed.
Sir? Five voices in perfect unison. Respectful but tense.
The figure stepped into the room. The overhead light caught his face.
Cǝelan
His cold blue eyes swept across the room. Took in the guards positions. The interrogation setup.
Then his gaze landed on me.
Something flickered in his expression. Too fast for the guards to catch. Bu I saw it.
He looked at the lead guard. Didn’t say anything. Just met his eyes.
The guard understood immediately. “Yes sir. We’ll wait outside.”
All four guards filed out quickly. Efficient. Professional.
The heavy door closed behind them.
Silence fell over the interrogation room.
I was alone with Caelan. My wrists locked in shackles above my head. No way to defend myself physically.
But I wasn’t afraid.
I heard his boots on the concrete floor. Getting closer.
He walked around me slowly. Like he was conducting an inspection.
Then he stopped. Directly in front of me.
Close enough that I could feel the heat from his body. Close enough to smell pine and leather and something uniquely him.
His hand came up. Rough fingers traced along my jawline. The calluses from weapon training were obvious.
His thumb brushed across my lower lip. Testing. Claiming

Then he kissed me.
Not gentle. Not asking permission. Just taking what he wanted.
Deep. Possessive. The kind of kiss that said mine without words.
His hand moved to the back of my neck. Held me in place even though I couldn’t go anywhere.
The restraints rattled slightly as my body shifted. Responding despite myself.
I knew the cameras were watching. Recording everything. The guards outside would see this footage later.
Caelan didn’t care. He kissed me like a military commander who took what he wanted and dealt with consequences later.
When he finally pulled back, his breathing was slightly faster.
My mind was working through the implications. Processing what just happened.
I’d known this was his plan the moment I saw him in the doorway.
This was the third time he’d pulled something like this. Using unconventional scenarios to get close to me. To stake his claim.
He was creative. I had to give him credit for that.

And the truth was, I wasn’t angry about it.
His scent was in my lungs now. Pine and leather and Alpha presence. It satisfied something in me that I didn’t want to examine too closely.
Because here’s the thing about me. About who I really am.
I only allow what I want to happen.
Nobody forces me to do anything. Not with chains. Not with threats. Not with power plays.
If Caelan got this far, it was because I permitted it.
The interrogation room was bold. But it was also impressive. The kind of aggressive confidence that appealed to the predator in me.
Plus Caelan was objectively attractive. Tall. Strong. Smart. Exactly the kind of Alpha I’d be interested in.
So if I was satisfied with his approach, why not enjoy it?
But it was time to make something clear. Time to show him who was really in control here.
Even with my wrists locked above my head, I wasn’t helpless. My feet were planted firmly on the ground. I had leverage.
I used it.
Pushed up slightly on my toes. Changed the angle. And kissed him back.

Hard Demanding. Making it absolutely clear this was my choice, not his conquest.
The shackles rattled as I moved. But I didn’t care about the restraints. They were irrelevant.
Caelan made a sound low in his throat. Surprise mixed with something c
His hands tightened on my waist. Pulled me closer even though the chain limited how much I could move.
I broke the kiss. Looked directly into his eyes.
“Is this your idea of interrogation?” I asked. My voice was steady.
He smiled slightly. “This is my idea of making a point.
“What point would that be?”
“That you’re mine.” His voice dropped lower. “Whether you’re ready to admit it or not.”
“Interesting theory.” I tilted my head as much as the position allowed. “B you seem to have forgotten something.”
“What’s that?”
“I don’t belong to anyone unless I choose to.”
His smile widened. “That’s why I’m here. To convince you to choose.*
“And you think restraints and stolen kisses will accomplish that?”
“No.” He leaned closer. His breath warm against my ear. “I think showing you I’m willing to take risks for you will accomplish that. I think
proving I’m not afraid of you will accomplish that.”
I considered that. He had a point.

Most Alphas were intimidated by me. By my strength. My reputation.
Caelan wasn’t. He met me head-on. Challenged me. Refused to back down That was rare.
“You’re risking a lot,” I said. “The cameras are recording. The guards know you’re in here.”
“I don’t care. His voice was firm. Certain. “Let them see. Let them know you’re claimed.”
“Claimed?” I raised an eyebrow. “Thats a strong word.”
“It’s the right word. His hand traced down my arm. Along the chain connecting my wrist to the wall. “You can pretend otherwise. You can act like this doesn t affect you. But I know better.”
‘Do you?”
“Yes.” He stepped even closer. Our bodies almost touching “Because your letting this happen. You could break these chains whenever you wanted. We both know that

He was right about that. If I wanted to break free, I could. The metal would give before my strength did.
“So why haven’t you?” Caelan asked. ‘Why are you still standing here? Letting me get away with this?”
I met his eyes directly. Held his gaze.
“Maybe I’m curious,” I said. “Maybe I want to see how far you ll go.”
“How far do you want me to go?”
The question hung in the air between us. Loaded with implications.
I didn’t answer immediately. Just looked at him.
This was the moment. The decision point.
I could end this now. Make it clear I wasn’t interested. Put distance between us.
Or I could lean into it. See where this dangerous game led.
“That depends,” I said finally. “On whether you can keep up.”
His smile turned predatory. “Try me.”
Then he kissed me again. Harder this time. More demanding.
And I let him.
