Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 70

**Paths Lead To Purpose — Kevin Masters**
**Chapter 70**

“Boss, I just got off the phone with the shop. Zoe came in to have that necklace repaired,” Ella said, her tone laced with confusion. “Why were we even keeping tabs on that old piece? It’s been sold for ages now.”

A knowing smile crept onto Ophelia’s lips, a glint of mischief dancing in her eyes. “Why else would we monitor it? To collect the maintenance fee, naturally. When money comes knocking, you don’t just ignore it.”

“Wait, I’m not quite following you,” Ella replied, her voice tinged with genuine perplexity.

Ophelia leaned back, her posture relaxed yet poised. “Zoe has had her eye on my jewelry collection for quite some time now. So, what does she do? She conveniently damages her only Caterina necklace and borrows mine for the banquet.”

“Did she really think she could wear my pieces without paying anything?” Ophelia chuckled softly to herself, shaking her head.

Although Zoe had certainly turned heads while flaunting Ophelia’s accessories, Ophelia firmly believed that everything came with a price tag, and she was determined to collect what was owed to her.

“Ah, I see it now,” Ella’s voice took on a sly, conspiratorial tone. “Consider it handled. This should be quite the show to watch.”

In her mind, Ella thought, ‘Zoe really doesn’t understand her place, trying to take what belongs to Ophelia. She’s in for a hefty financial blow, that’s for sure.’

“Just make sure the charges are substantial,” Ophelia instructed, her tone playful yet firm. “It’s not like she’ll just walk away from her precious necklace without a fight.” With that, she ended the call, a satisfied smirk still lingering on her face.

Murmuring to herself, she added, “Zoe pays Alaric a visit at the hospital and conveniently drops some cash in my lap on the way. How thoughtful of her.”

While Alaric remained a source of irritation and frustration for Ophelia, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction at the prospect of profiting from this little drama. The thought of waiting for her rewards to come in without lifting a finger was undeniably pleasurable.

Content with how everything was unfolding, Ophelia decided it was time for a well-deserved nap.

When she finally awoke, the late afternoon sun streamed through her curtains, and she guessed that Zoe must have returned by now, perhaps even stirring up some chaos.
