A while back, to make her get used to sleeping in his arms, he would wait until she fell asleep and sneakily remove her plush pillow. Without it, she would subconsciously gravitate toward him and use him as her substitute.
Later, after he had used his devastating good looks to seduce her and their relationship progressed to true intimacy, she had slept wrapped around him every single night. Since she never brought up the plush pillow again, he had quietly disposed of it.
No matter how hard she searched now, she wasn't going to find it.
But she could absolutely never find that out, or she'd be furious.
"Your pillow? I have no idea. Isn't it in the master bedroom?"
"It's not. You definitely hid it. Hand it over, I can't sleep without it."
Julius got out of bed, slipped on his slippers, and took her hand. "It must still be in the master bedroom. Come on, I'll help you look for it."
He had been desperately looking for an excuse to go back to their room anyway!
He led her back into the master bedroom, putting on a show of checking high and low.
"Well, I can't find it. But I do have a way for you to get a pillow back. Come here."
Stella eyed him suspiciously. She had a strong feeling her human body pillow was responsible for its disappearance, but she had no proof.
Julius guided her to the edge of the bed, pulled back the covers for her to lie down, and then quickly climbed into the other side.
He wrapped her arm around his waist, whispering gently into her ear, "Honey, I'm your pillow. Just hold me, and you'll fall right asleep."
His warm breath tickled her ear, sending a pleasant shiver down her spine. She pushed him back slightly. "Let go. Talk properly. Aren't you still mad at me?"
Julius wrapped his arms around her securely, refusing to let go. "I'm not letting go. We'll talk like this. I'm not mad anymore. Now, tell me, what's this about you street racing?"
"I don't want to talk about it!"
"Alright, if you don't want to tell me, you don't have to. I won't force you."
Stella looked at him, skeptical. He was being this agreeable? He was just going to let it drop? They had literally just been screaming at each other!
