Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 215

Stella offered Sabrina a tight, highly unconvincing smile.

She truly couldn't care less about wandering through department stores.

But whatever. It was rare to see Sabrina this excited, so she decided to just roll with it and sacrifice herself for the cause.

Sabrina was on a mission: today was entirely about buying Stella a new wardrobe.

The two arrived at the luxury boutique floor.

"Stella, you need to pick out something gorgeous today. Whatever you like, it's on me!"

"Alright. Since you're absolutely loaded, I'll be sure to pick the most expensive thing on the rack."

She knew Sabrina desperately wanted to thank her for saving her life. If she didn't let the heiress spend some money on her, Sabrina would feel endlessly guilty.

"Price is no object! Pick whatever you want. I'm spoiling you today!"

They browsed leisurely, stepping into stores to try on anything that caught their eye. Whatever looked good was immediately purchased—though so far, Sabrina was the only one doing the buying.

Sabrina had already bought two dresses, while Stella hadn't chosen a single thing.

"Stella, is there really nothing you like?"

Stella finally pointed to a nearby boutique. "Actually, I really like that dress over there."

Sabrina immediately pulled her inside. "Let's go check it out."

A sales associate warmly greeted them. "Welcome! Please let me know if anything catches your eye. You're welcome to try it on."

Stella asked, "May I try this dress on?"

The associate smiled brightly. "You have fantastic taste, Miss. This piece was designed by the renowned Nora. It just arrived and is a highly limited edition."

Stella was just about to say, "I'll try it," when a voice interrupted from behind.

"Hold on. There's no need for her to try it. I'll take it. Box it up immediately."

At that moment, Rhoda whispered in Yvonne's ear, "Yvonne, that girl is my friend's illegitimate half-sister. She's just a country bumpkin from the sticks. You don't have to be afraid of her."

Rhoda had already suffered twice at Stella's hands—once at the Ember Bar, and again at Sylvie Jennings's birthday party.

Running into her here was the perfect opportunity to use Yvonne to teach her a lesson.

Yvonne hadn't known anything about Stella's background and had been stressing over how to investigate her. So she was just a country bumpkin!

She couldn't fathom why Julius would ever marry a nobody from the sticks. There definitely wasn't any real love between them.

With that cemented in her mind, Yvonne decided to publicly humiliate Stella as payback for the office incident.

"You haven't bought it yet. Whoever pays first, gets it."

Yvonne turned to the sales associate, ordering imperiously, "You. Come here. Swipe my card. I'm buying this dress."

As a wealthy socialite, Yvonne obviously recognized Sabrina as the Sherwood family's daughter, but she simply refused to give her face.
