Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 260

Stella crossed her arms over her chest, unbothered. "And what if I say no?"

Lynch let out a dark chuckle. "Look at you—a fragile, delicate little thing. And look at us. We're just a bunch of rough, heavy-handed bruisers. If things get physical and that pretty face of yours gets bruised, don't blame us for lacking chivalry."

She was cornered in the middle of nowhere and she still didn't realize how doomed she was?

Talk about having zero survival instinct.

"Well, when you put it like that, I suppose I'll tag along," she replied breezily, playing right into their hands.

Lynch spat the rest of his tobacco out, grinning in sick satisfaction. "That's more like it. After you, sweetheart."

Since she was actually being cooperative, he was in a good enough mood to mockingly hold the door open for her.

Stella cast one last fond look at her beautiful car. *Sorry, baby. Wait right here. Mom will come back to get you soon.*

It was a limited-edition hypercar. She knew for a fact none of these street thugs would dare joyride or steal it. If the police traced it back to them, the damages alone would ruin their lives a hundred times over.

A single tire on that machine cost more than a suburban house.

She slid into the back of Lynch's SUV.

The second the doors shut, a thick blindfold was pulled tight over her eyes.

"Sorry about this, gorgeous. House rules. You're just gonna have to sit tight."

Because she was stunning, he was willing to be slightly more polite than usual.

Stella didn't say a word. Complaining about the blindfold wouldn't change anything.

But she had to admit, they were paranoid. Where were they taking her, a gold vault?

Honestly, she preferred the clean blindfold over having a filthy rag soaked in chloroform shoved over her face, or a suffocating black sack dumped over her head.

She sat silently, tracking the journey in her head. For the first thirty minutes, the ride was smooth, likely on a main road. Then, the tires started rumbling over rough, uneven terrain, and their speed dropped significantly.
