Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 262

Cecilia stared at Stella in amazement. "How did you know that?"

Stella replied with a touch of arrogance, "It's obvious at a glance."

Cecilia pouted.

Obvious at a glance?

She had stared at the girl for hours and hadn't figured out a thing.

Was this girl just a genius, or was she herself as dumb as a rock?

Forget it, she'd just ask something else.

"Hey, what's your name?"

"Stella Hawthorne."

"That's a pretty name. So, what's your plan?"

Stella shrugged. "What plan could I possibly have?"

Cecilia's head dropped in defeat. "I don't even know if my family has realized I'm gone. Even if they call the cops, what if they can't find this place? Are we really just going to sit here and die?"

"You went missing last night, and they have to wait twenty-four hours to officially file a missing person's report. Your family is definitely looking for you right now, but finding this exact location won't be easy," Stella said honestly.

Cecilia sniffled miserably. "If I had known, I would have just stayed on campus last night. I have the worst luck."

Just as Stella had guessed, the Eames family was currently losing their minds.

"Hey, can't you give us something decent? We're not criminals! Even prisoners get hot meals!"

Cecilia had already suffered through two meals of dry biscuits, and seeing the same trash again finally triggered her pampered temper.

The man delivering the food looked at Cecilia with absolute disdain, as if she were an insect. "You're all about to die anyway. What's the point of eating well? If you don't want it, starve."

Cecilia put her hands on her hips. "Hey, does your boss know you treat people like this? Just wait until I see him—I'm going to report you!"

Without a word, the man stepped forward and slapped Cecilia hard across the face. He sneered arrogantly, "Go ahead and report me! Who the hell do you think you are?

Have you not figured out your situation yet? Nobody leaves this place alive, and you have the nerve to yell at me? Forget the next meal—you're getting nothing!"

He decided right then and there to starve this ungrateful brat. Let's see if two missed meals wouldn't shut her up!
