Well, it wasn't exactly a kidnapping since she came willingly.
"To make Siren's Scent."
Spot on. "Where do you manufacture Siren's Scent?" This was crucial; she had to get this information.
"I don't know," the man answered honestly.
"Then who does?"
"Only Mr. Kaye and the mastermind."
The mastermind?
Who the hell was this mastermind?
"Do you know the mastermind's name or where they live?"
"No."
What a shame. This guy was clearly just a low-level grunt who didn't have access to the big boss.
"Can you open this door?" Since he didn't know anything else, it was best to figure out how to get the hell out of here first.
"This door can only be opened from the outside. It's impossible to unlock from within."
Stella issued another command. "Call your buddies right now and tell them to open the door."
"I can't. Anyone who enters the basement is strictly forbidden from carrying a phone."
Damn it. That scumbag Gideon was incredibly cautious!
"Do you have any other way to get out of here?"
"No."
No? Then how long were they going to be locked up?
"Will Mr. Kaye be coming down here?"
"Yes. He checks the basement every other day."
So that was it. They just had to wait. She pressed on, "Did Mr. Kaye come yesterday?"
"No."
Perfect. If he hadn't shown up yesterday, they only had to hold out until morning.
If Stella said she could get them out, then she absolutely would.
The mute woman's eyes were also brimming with newfound hope.
She, too, believed Stella could save them.
Because Stella was far more capable than they were. She knew how to incapacitate someone and even use hypnosis.
The three women spent the rest of the night in the basement.
The next morning.
Gideon Kaye woke up.
His thoughts drifted to Stella, the woman they had brought in yesterday.
Things had been so chaotic last night that he hadn't even found the time to check on her. He wondered how she was holding up.
After freshening up, he skimmed through the morning news. Seeing that last night's incident hadn't even made the headlines, his mood instantly brightened.
He enjoyed a fantastic breakfast before carrying a generous tray of food down to the basement.
