Stella went back into her small room and climbed into bed.
Since there was absolutely nothing she could do right now, and Gideon had stepped out, she decided to catch up on the sleep she missed last night.
She needed to be fully rested to deal with a creep like him.
Lying on the mattress, she replayed Julius's panicked words in her head. She honestly hadn't expected him to be so worried about her.
She hoped her call had brought him some peace of mind.
Meanwhile, Julius was having his own revelations: *That bastard Gideon is dirty after all.*
Yet, when he had his men raid the property earlier, they had come up empty-handed. The guy was good at hiding his tracks.
Just as Stella had hoped, hearing her voice grounded Julius significantly.
After making a few calls to arrange surveillance, he drove her sports car back to the Imperial Gardens to finally get some rest.
He couldn't afford to collapse now. She was still relying on him for backup!
Stella slept soundly in the cramped guest room and was served two decent meals, but Gideon still hadn't returned.
She had to admit, the food up here was leagues better than the basement rations.
She just hoped Cecilia and the mute woman were holding up okay.
She wasn't too overly concerned. When Gideon escorted her out, guards were already stationed outside their door.
Once the guy she knocked out under the table woke up, he would definitely call for someone to open the iron gate, and eventually, they'd get fed.
Though, it definitely wouldn't be anything appetizing.
Once she coaxed the information out of Gideon, she would make her move and break them out.
Night fell, and Gideon was still a no-show. Who knew where he went or what kind of mess he was tied up in.
He had rested during the day, planning to infiltrate the place as soon as darkness fell.
Stella thought about it for a second. With his combat skills, bypassing regular security definitely wouldn't be an issue for him.
"Gideon could be back any minute. You need to get out of here. He left this morning and hasn't returned; he's bound to show up soon."
"I know. I just needed to lay eyes on you. I'll leave in a second. Stella, I actually had this entire place searched last night, but we found nothing. This room was empty."
Julius quickly explained his movements from the previous night.
Stella understood now. He had been looking for her, he just hadn't found the right spot.
"Right. Gideon didn't move me in here until this morning. We were all locked in a basement last night."
"Stella, tell me exactly what the basement looks like. My men tore this property apart and never found an entrance."
Stella thought back and spoke quickly, "I'm not surprised. Gideon is incredibly paranoid and cunning.
