He dragged Nadine out into the living room as a hostage.
Larry immediately dialed Julius's number. "Sir, Nadine has been taken hostage! You need to come back immediately!"
"Larry, don't panic. Call the police first. I'm on my way."
Julius had been in the middle of strategizing Wade's most likely hideouts with his team. Upon hearing the news, he bolted out the door.
Wade must have snuck into the Manor. He never expected the man to be this brazen.
Stella rushed downstairs the moment a maid woke her up.
She saw Nadine bound by ropes, with Wade holding a dagger to her neck.
"Wade, let her go. She's an old woman. Take me instead. Tie me up and let my grandmother go, alright?" Stella attempted to negotiate.
"So you do remember me, Ms. Hawthorne. It's been a few days, and you're just as stunning as ever. Julius is a lucky man."
"Let my grandmother go first. Her health isn't great. Trade her for me."
This psychotic bastard actually dared to break into the Manor. He really had a death wish.
"I want both of you. Come here right now, or I'll end this old hag!"
Wade pressed the blade deeper against Nadine's throat.
"Stella, don't come over here! I'm fine. He won't dare do anything. If you come over, you're giving him exactly what he wants. He just wants another hostage to threaten Julius!"
Nadine refused to let her granddaughter-in-law trade her life. She already had one foot in the grave; she wasn't worth the sacrifice. She still wanted Stella and her grandson to live a long, happy life together.
If the kidnapper wanted to kill someone, he could kill her.
Wade roared, "Shut your mouth! For an old bag of bones, you sure talk a lot. Stella, get over here right now, or things are going to get messy."
"Calm down. I'm coming over. Just don't hurt my grandmother!"
With that, Stella slowly walked toward Nadine.
"If you lay a finger on my grandmother, Julius will tear you apart when he gets back."
"Since I had the guts to come here, I'm not afraid of him. Even if I die today, taking two of his favorites with me is a fair trade."
Wade glared at the maid and ordered again, "Tie her hands again. And if you try to pull another stunt, I'll gut you!"
The maid, who had been knocked to the floor, scrambled up in sheer terror. She grabbed the rope and began re-tying Stella's hands.
"I'm so sorry, Mrs. Blackwood. I'm useless."
"It's not your fault. Just tie it. I'll be fine."
Too terrified to fake it this time, the maid bound Stella's wrists securely.
Satisfied that the knot was tight, Wade smirked. "Alright. Who's going to call your boss? I want to speak to him."
Larry frantically stepped forward. "I'll do it. I'll call him right now."
