Nadine immediately grew tense. "Julius, is your leg acting up again? Let me see!"

She reached down, intending to roll up her eldest grandson's pant leg to inspect the damage.

Julius gently caught her hand. "No, Grandma, it's not that. My legs are actually doing much better. The hospital called to say they found a highly skilled specialist who can cure me, and they want me admitted right away."

Nadine let out a massive sigh of relief, patting her chest. "You scared me half to death! Well then, you two need to get to the hospital immediately."

"I'll have the chef prepare delicious, healthy meals every day and send them over for both of you. Chloe truly brought us luck. The moment you married her, a brilliant doctor suddenly appeared. It's wonderful."

"Alright. Thank you, Grandma. I appreciate it." Julius didn't refuse her offer. If he didn't give the matriarch something to do, she would only overthink.

That afternoon, Stella packed a bag of essentials for Julius, and the driver took them straight to the private hospital.

Everything she had requested was already prepped. Upon inspecting the setup, Stella found herself quite satisfied.

The two surgeons Julius had arranged were a man in his thirties named Dr. Lowell, and a man in his fifties named Dr. Warren.

Since they were handpicked by Julius, they had to be highly trusted, so she didn't waste time interrogating them.

She quickly laid out the ground rules and the level of coordination required. Once both men confirmed they understood, the four of them scrubbed in, suited up, and prepared to begin.

Right before starting, Stella looked down. "Julius, are you ready? I'm about to administer the anesthesia. When it wears off, the pain is going to be severe. If it gets to be too much, we can authorize some painkillers."

"I'm ready. Let's do this." Julius didn't even flinch.

"Take these pills first."

Julius swallowed them without hesitation.

Dr. Lowell and Dr. Warren helped him onto the operating table, and Dr. Lowell administered the anesthetic.
