Stella watched the footage.
Oh, wow!
Julius had masterfully spliced and edited the security footage from last night. The new cut seamlessly made it look as though Yvonne and Rhoda had sneaked off into the dark bushes together on purpose.
The best part was that neither Stella nor the man Rhoda had knocked out were anywhere in the frame. It was edited so perfectly that no one would ever suspect it had been altered.
Anyone watching it would immediately assume the two young women had ducked into the underbrush to engage in something extremely scandalous and entirely unmentionable.
"Darling, you're a genius!" Stella praised.
Julius gave her a wicked grin. "I know. You told me that plenty of times last night." She had screamed it until she was hoarse, in fact.
Stella’s face flushed a deep crimson. "You are shameless! Who was talking about that? I'm going to go keep Grandma company. I'm ignoring you!"
Julius chuckled in a great mood as he watched his flustered little wife practically sprint out of the room. He then tapped the screen, sending the meticulously crafted video straight to Byron Jeter.
For all her badass swagger and her shameless appreciation of a good-looking man, his wife was actually incredibly easy to embarrass—especially when it came to their intimacy.
So he loved teasing her just to see that beautiful blush spread across her cheeks.
Meanwhile, Byron received the video file. He opened it, and as the footage played, his face cycled through a spectacular array of colors.
"Byron, what did the Blackwood boy say? Why do you look like that?"
Franklin was confused. Was Julius really the problem?
Suppressing the boiling rage in his chest, Byron shoved the phone toward Franklin. "See for yourself."
Franklin took the phone. By the time the video ended, he completely understood why Byron looked ready to commit murder.
He handed the phone back, his face a mask of furious humiliation. "I am going to kill her!"
Without another word, Franklin turned on his heel and stormed out of the hospital room.
She only knew he had stepped out to make a phone call.
She had no idea what could have sparked such a violent mood swing.
Byron pointed a trembling finger at Yvonne, who was dozing with an IV in her arm. "What's wrong? Why don't you ask that disgrace of a daughter what she did!"
Yvonne, who had been tormented and sleep-deprived all night, had finally managed to drift off after her medication kicked in. Her father's booming roar jolted her awake.
"Mom, Dad, can you keep it down? You're giving me a headache!" she whined immediately.
"You shameless, disgraceful little bitch, you dare complain about the noise?! I'll beat you to death!" Byron roared, raising his hand to strike her.
Catherine frantically grabbed his arm. "What is wrong with you?! Have you lost your mind? Can't we talk about this calmly? Look at the state she's in!"
"She brought this entirely on herself! She deserves worse!" With no other outlet for his explosive anger, Byron violently kicked a nearby chair across the room.
