Three days later, Yvonne was discharged from the hospital.
The family driver was the only one sent to pick her up. She even had to handle her own discharge paperwork.
Over the past three days, only her mother had visited. Her father hadn't shown his face once since he stormed out.
According to her mother, Byron had taken the video to top-tier digital forensics experts. Their verdict? The video was 100% authentic. Unaltered.
Because of that, her father was beyond furious and refused to see her.
It drove her insane. The truth was entirely different from what was on that screen, so how had it become an undeniable fact?
And Julius's methods were terrifyingly advanced. The editing was so flawless that not even professionals could spot the seams.
If she hadn't been the one actually living through the event, she might have believed it herself.
The moment she stepped through the front door of her home, she was hit by a wall of her father's wrath.
"You still have the nerve to show your face here!"
"Dad, please, it's really not what you think!" Yvonne pleaded desperately. "Why won't you just believe me?"
"You're still lying! I had it professionally verified! The video is real! If this gets out, you are no longer my daughter." He couldn't stomach the humiliation.
An unplanned pregnancy out of wedlock? He could have managed that.
But this?!
She was completely out of control!
And it wasn't just the sheer depravity of it—she had made a spectacle of herself and handed absolute blackmail material straight to the Blackwoods!
How did he raise such an idiot?
Damn it!
"No, it's not true! I'll tell you the truth. I'll tell you exactly what happened that night," Yvonne cracked under the suffocating pressure and her father's explosive rage. She had no choice but to confess.
You and Rhoda were foolish enough to try and trap someone, and it completely blew up in your faces. Consider this matter closed.
From now on, you are forbidden from stepping foot near the Blackwood estate. And stay far away from Julius's wife. She might play the innocent little flower, but she's clearly no victim."
Knowing his daughter had simply been outsmarted in a scheme made Byron feel marginally better.
At least she wasn't embroiled in a scandalous secret relationship.
But the lingering mystery still bothered him. Even if the plot failed, how on earth did Yvonne end up so viciously maimed by insects?
What exactly happened during the time she was unconscious?
Did the Blackwoods use some sort of dark magic to summon a plague of bugs?
Regardless of how it happened, Yvonne was the instigator. It seemed he still needed to pay a personal visit to Julius.
Even if their families could never go back to how they were, he absolutely could not afford an all-out war with the Blackwoods.
