Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 414

The old man had been at death's door last night. They had even issued a critical condition notice, predicting he wouldn't survive the next twenty-four hours.

Yet this morning, not only was he awake, but his symptoms had lessened, and his overall spirit was vastly improved.

Stella scoffed internally. *Of course he improved after taking my medicine. Money can't buy that kind of remedy.*

Vincent gave Stella a quiet look before turning to the doctor. "Dr. Jordan, I want you to explain my father's condition and go over all his pathology reports with my niece-in-law. Leave absolutely nothing out."

"Right away, Mr. Vaughn," Dr. Jordan replied respectfully.

He knew Vincent was a powerful figure. As a specialist in this field, the hospital director had personally assigned him to ensure the old man received top-tier care. Ever since Vincent had gotten involved, guards had been stationed outside the room daily.

Stella followed Dr. Jordan to his office, where he detailed Wilfred's condition and pulled up every single medical record.

He had no idea what kind of extraordinary abilities this young woman possessed, but the patient's condition had undeniably improved. The man had been dying, and now he was recovering. She must have done something last night.

Stella listened intently, read through the medical history, and scrutinized every scan the hospital had taken.

By the time she finished, her face was ice-cold.

*Quacks!*

"So," she demanded sharply, "your hospital made such a massive blunder, and you have no intention of giving my grandfather an explanation?"

Dr. Jordan felt a jolt of panic but tried to keep his composure. "What do you mean?"

Vincent's face darkened instantly. His hands balled into tight fists. "Dr. Jordan, what exactly is going on here?"

Faced with Vincent's overwhelming authority and Julius's icy glare, sweat broke out on Dr. Jordan's forehead.

"Mr. Vaughn, the director assigned me to this case only after the nerve sheath tumor was confirmed," he stammered nervously. "I wasn't his initial attending physician. I genuinely had no idea about any misdiagnosis."

He wasn't trying to pass the buck—it genuinely wasn't his fault!

"Then get your hospital director in here," Vincent commanded. "I want to hear his excuse."

If the director had known and covered it up, his career was over.
