Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 441

Surely they wouldn't be brazen enough to pull anything in a crowded public space?

Not that she was afraid, of course.

They were just three pieces of trash, after all.

The pierced guy seized a moment when Stella was supposedly distracted and suddenly lunged. He closed the distance, his left hand gripping her wrist like a vice while his right hand pressed a short, retractable dagger against the small of her back.

He whispered menacingly into her ear, "So what if we are? Be a good girl and come with us. Don't make a sound, or else..."

He pressed the blade slightly harder against her lower back, and Stella felt a tiny prick of pain.

Feigning terror, she whispered back, "I'll go with you! Just please, don't hurt me."

Joel Keller had mentioned yesterday that this guy was from the North Myanor border. Since Lucian Vance was his accomplice, it meant they were all from the border region.

Them taking her away played perfectly into her hands. She had to visit the border eventually anyway.

Her original plan was to head there to investigate her grandfather's disappearance after spending the holidays in the capital.

Julius Blackwood had mentioned that his parents would be returning for the holidays, and he wanted to host their wedding while they were both in town.

But with an opportunity this good dropping right into her lap, it felt like fate was telling her to go to the border now.

Who was she to fight fate? She'd just make the trip.

Maybe tagging along with them would yield some unexpected clues.

The only downside was that she couldn't send Julius a quick text to explain. She felt a twinge of guilt and just hoped he wouldn't be sick with worry.

She also hoped she could wrap this up smoothly and make it back before the holidays.

The pierced guy shoved her forward. "Cut the crap and walk. Try anything, and you'll regret it."

The brute of the group confiscated her phone and backpack. The three of them herded her into a VIP lounge.
