Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 499

Serena clutched her chest, letting out a massive, trembling gasp. She had genuinely thought she was going to die.

The rest of the men lowered their weapons, breathing a collective sigh of relief. They had all been sweating the possibility of Tiger firing blindly in a panic and catching someone in the crossfire.

Julius and Fenton both immediately stepped forward, arms wide open, aiming straight for Stella.

Stella looked at them both and didn't move.

Hugging either one was a political nightmare.

Fenton glared, his mustache practically twitching with indignation. "You reckless brat, get over here!"

Julius had no clue who the old man was, but he clearly had a very close relationship with Stella.

There was absolutely no way he was letting some random old man hug his wife. Julius closed the distance in two massive strides and pulled her fiercely against his chest.

"Stella. God, I missed you."

Over two months. He finally had her back in his arms.

Fenton erupted. "You shameless punk! Let go of my girl right now, or I'm putting a bullet in you!"

He didn't know who this arrogant bastard was, but talking was one thing—putting his hands on his beloved student was entirely different!

Breathing in the comforting, familiar scent of him, Stella gently patted his back. "Okay, let go. You're crushing me."

Julius reluctantly loosened his grip.

Stella took Julius's hand, pulled him toward the furious old man, and made the introductions. "Julius, this is my Fifth Master."

She turned to her mentor. "Fenton, this is my husband. Julius Blackwood."

Fenton glared at Julius, looking him up and down with utter disdain. "So you're the useless husband. Letting my girl walk into a slaughterhouse all by herself. Divorce him the second we get back!"

Julius immediately tightened his grip on Stella's hand. "It's an honor to meet you, Fifth Master. I love Stella. I am never divorcing her."

What was wrong with her mentor? Who demands a divorce in the first thirty seconds of meeting someone?

Hasn't he ever heard that destroying a marriage is a cardinal sin?
