Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 630

"Sixty million!"

"Seventy million!"

"Eighty million!"

"One hundred million!"

The host practically shouted in excitement, "One hundred million! Do I hear any higher bids?"

"One hundred million going once!"

"One hundred million going twice!"

"One hundred million going three times!"

"Sold!"

"Congratulations to Bidder 8 for winning the Aeterna Pill for one hundred million!"

Stella turned to look at the winner. The man holding the paddle was wearing a fox mask and was flanked by several intimidating men in black suits. His identity was completely hidden.

It seemed the pill had been snatched up by another mystery buyer.

The man swiped his card, collected the Aeterna Pill, and left immediately without lingering.

Stella also received her prize.

She was ready to leave, but the host insisted she stay to say a few words. It was incredibly annoying, but she complied.

"Ms. Hawthorne, the Aeterna Pill just sold for an astonishing one hundred million. Do you have anything you'd like to say?"

"This pill was originally gifted to me. I just hope the money raised today goes to those who truly need it, and that The Veridian Disability Fund and the Medical Association put these funds to good, practical use."

She genuinely hadn't expected it to fetch such an astronomical price. With that kind of money, both organizations could do some real, meaningful work.

The president of the Medical Association stepped onto the stage and took the microphone. "Ms. Hawthorne, on behalf of the Medical Association, I want to deeply thank you for your immense generosity and compassion.

Once she had the pastries, they could head straight to the airport and fly home.

She trusted her bodyguard completely. He was a highly trained ex-military operative. Protecting a single plant was well within his capabilities.

The bodyguard nodded solemnly. "Don't worry, ma'am. I will guard it with my life."

Stella, terrified he was about to swear a blood oath to die with the plant, quickly cut in, "Just go straight to the hotel. Don't go anywhere else. Call me if anything happens."

"Understood, ma'am." He planned to lock himself in the room and stare at the box until she returned.

After getting out of the car, Stella walked directly toward the bakery.

She had pre-ordered ten boxes of their signature floral pastries, and the owner had them freshly baked and ready for her today.

She picked up her order, paid the remaining balance, and left without wasting any time.

As she made her way back down the bustling street, weaving through the lively crowd, she had absolutely no idea that someone was watching her every move from the shadows.
