Furious, Bruno roared and raised his hand, fully intending to slap the old man across the face.
Stella's eyes widened in sheer shock. She instantly grabbed the water bottle next to her and hurled it directly at Bruno's raised hand.
Bruno cried out in pain, clutching his bruised hand as he turned to Stella, completely baffled.
His men had just stormed in unannounced. He was trying to discipline them so she wouldn't get upset. What was she doing?
"Ma'am, what does this mean? I was just teaching him a lesson for you!"
If he wasn't terrified that her wrath would be redirected at him, he wouldn't have even bothered!
"Teaching him a lesson... Forget it. Bruno, tell your men to wait outside. Bring him here."
"Everyone out! Master Todd, stay here."
Bruno had no idea why this terrifying woman suddenly looked so anxious about the crazy old man, but he knew better than to question her orders.
Once the room cleared, Stella stepped forward, her eyes instantly welling with tears as she stared at the old man. After a long, heavy silence, she whispered, "Grandpa... I finally found you."
He had aged significantly, but she recognized him immediately.
However, Dewey Todd didn't share her emotional reaction. Instead, he looked at her with pure confusion. "Girl, I think you've got the wrong person. I don't know you."
Stella stared at him in disbelief. "Grandpa, how could you not know me? It's me, Little Star!"
It had only been ten years. How could he possibly forget her?
She paused. It made sense. She was an adult now. She looked completely different. It was totally normal that he didn't recognize her right away.
