XENOIS

I pulled into our driveway, my mind racing with different thoughts.. “I’m having another DNA test done,” I said as I turned off the engine, turning to

look at her. I wasn’t going to let this just ruin my life when I was innocent.

“A more thorough one. And I’m going to find out exactly how this happened.

“Xenois-

And this arrangement is temporary,” I continued, cutting her off, shaking my head. “Tonight only. And only because you don’t have a home to go to.

Tomorrow I’m taking you to a hotel while we figure out your housing situation. This is not you moving back into my life.”

As I helped her out of the car, I caught a scent that made my wolf instantly alert as I subconsciously growled.

Another Alpha had been here, in my house. In my private den. The territorial instinct kicked in immediately, and I remembered that I had approved

Alpha Zade’s visit request. Damn it. This wasn’t the time to deal with Zade. Nothing was going right for me now.

The front door opened before I could knock, showing Thorne who looked sad about something. He looked stressed and exhausted.

“Thorne, I need to speak with Lumina immediately,” I said, supporting Sophia as we walked toward the house.

“Alpha Zade will have to wait. I need to sort out my family situation first.”

“Xenois,” Thorne said, his voice heavy with something in his tone that I couldn’t identify at the moment. “We need to talk.”

“After I speak with my wife,” I said impatiently, shaking my head.

“Where is she?”

“She’s not here,” Thorne said quietly, sounding small as he continued speaking.

“Xenois, Lumina called Zade herself days ago to come here. He came here for her.”

I felt the world tilt around me, hearing this from him. “What do you mean?”

‘She’s gone, Xenois. She took Ollie and left with Zade. They’re gone.”

“That’s impossible,” I said, my voice hollow as I was in immediate denial about what he just said.

“She wouldn’t… she wouldn’t take my son.”

But even as I said it, I was already moving through the house, searching frantically for them.

I ran upstairs to our bedroom – empty. Ollie’s room half the clothes were ne, his favorite toys missing. The safe in our closet standing open and

empty.

“LUMINA!” I shouted, my voice echoing through the house, “LUMINA!”

I heard small footsteps and turned to see Riley standing in the doorway, wathing me with those green eyes that looked so much like mine.

Chapter 112

“She’s gone,’ he said simply. “They took lots of bags.”

I felt like I was drowning on dry land. My wife had taken my son and fled with my biggest rival. The woman I’d sworn to love and protect had

abandoned me.

“Xenois, Sophia said softly, appearing behind Riley, looking small and pitiful as she spoke,

I’m so sorry. Maybe if I hadn’t come here…”

I pushed past her without a word, my mind focused on only one thing. I had to find them. I had to get my son back.

“Where did they go?” I demanded, turning to Thorne.

“I don’t know,” he said helplessly shaking his head. “They just left. Zade said something about taking her somewhere safe.”

“You let them leave?” I roared grabbing his shirt in anger. “You let another Alpha take my mate and my son?”

“I tried to stop them,” Thorne protested, not putting up a fight as he understood what was happening and allowed it.

“But Lumina was determined to leave you behind no matter what I said to her. She said you’d made your choice when you chose to believe the

accusations against her.”

I was already moving toward the door, my wolf pushing against my human form, demanding to be released from its confines.

I had to track them, had to catch them before they reached Zade’s territory.

“Xenois, wait!” Thorne called after me. “You can’t just run into another Alphas territory without permission. It could start a war.”

But I was beyond caring about diplomacy at the moment, what was right and wrong? The usual rules. My mate was gone. My son was gone. I stripped

clothes as I ran into the yard, feeling the familiar burn of the transformation as my wolf took over.

my

I howled, a sound of pure anguish that echoed across the territory, calling my warriors to alert them that their Luna and future Alpha were in danger.
