Chapter 125
SOPHIA
“No, I am not trying to scare you Sophia. I am doing what I should have done all along. I’m trying to save your life, Andy said, sounding resolute as she continued speaking.
“My advice to you now is to leave this half baked plan and run far away from this town. Take Riley and disappear. Start over somewhere far away where Xenois can’t find you.”
“I’m not running,” I said, shaking my head as I was furious at what she was suggesting. How dare she give me such an option to do. “This is my home. He’s my mate. I’ve worked too hard to give up now.”
“He’s not your mate!” Andy yelled angrily, as I heard something being shattered to pieces over the other end. She was breathing heavily as she continued speaking.
“He never was! You’ve been living in a fantasy for six years, Sophia, you killed your own mate when he discovered that the baby wasn’t his. You have been playing the long haul trying to get what wasn’t yours. You killed his sister Xena all those years and pinned it on Lumina. You’ve destroyed an innocent woman’s marriage, you’ve stolen her child from birth, a child she never knew she had and you’ve manipulated a man into caring for you against his will. Don’t you feel any guilt about what you’ve done?”
I thought about Lumina, about the pain I’d seen in her eyes during our confrontations as she fought desperately to prove her
innocence to both Silvia and Xenois but it was all for naught.
“She got in my way,” I said coldly, running a hand through my hair as I shrugged my shoulders. “She had what should have been
mine.”
“Jesus Christ,” Andy whispered. “You’re completely delusional.*
“I’m not delusional,” I snapped at her, gritting my teeth in justified frustration. “I’m determined to get what is mine, I have worked hard for this and I won’t give up now because of your sudden morality. And if you won’t help me, I’ll find someone who will.
“No, you won’t,” Andy said firmly. “Because if you don’t stop this now and let all this end, I’ll tell Xenois everything myself. About the love spells that you have been using on him for the past six years, never letting him live happily with his mate. I will also tell him everything about the memory modifications, how you have done nothing short but sexually abused him, forcing him to kiss you and more when it was not with consent, and I will also tell him about Riley’s true parentage.”
The threat made my blood run cold as I grabbed the counter, my nails dragging on the white surface as I clenched my teeth. “You
wouldn’t dare.”
“Try me,” Andy said, not sounding worried about betraying me like this. “I’ve had enough of being involved in this madness. Either you tell Xenois the truth that Riley is actually his and Lumina’s son, that they had twins and you stole one of them – or I will.”
“You can’t prove anything,” I said, but my voice sounded shaky. There was no way she would be able to make Xenois see the truth.
