Rebirth of the Broken Luna A Second Chance at Luna's Heart novel Chapter 206

Chapter 206

‘Alpha Zade is okay though,” Ollie continued, his expression shifting to something more thoughtful. “He was sad a lot when he thought Mom didn’t love him back. But now that Dad’s here, I think he’s happier. Maybe now he can find his way towards you although

it’s odd and scary instead of being lonely.”

The innocent observation made my heart skip a beat, and I had to fight to keep my expression neutral.

If only Ollie knew how complicated his assessment of Zade’s romantic situation really was:

“Speaking of Zade,” I said, trying to sound casual, “I should probably go see him soon. We have some things to discuss.”

The understatement of the century, considering we needed to talk about that kiss and what it meant for both of us. My stomach tied itself in knots just thinking about facing him again, about seeing those intense eyes that seemed to see straight through all the walls that I had kept up to protect my heart from heartbreak.

That’s when the door burst open with enough force to make everyone in the room jump. Lynn rushed in, her face streaked with tears and her usually perfect composure completely shattered.

“Lynn?” I said, immediately alarmed by her appearance. “What’s wrong? What happened?”

She looked directly at me, her eyes wild with panic and desperation.

“Lyn, thank God you’re here,” she gasped, trying to wipe away tears that just kept coming. “It’s Zade. He’s… something terrible has

happened.”

My blood turned to ice in my veins. “What do you mean something terrible? Is he hurt?”

‘He’s been cursed,” Lynn said, her voice breaking on the words.

‘Someone used dark magic on him, and it’s killing him. The curse is spreading through his body like poison, and the doctors can’t do

anything to help him.”

The world seemed to tilt around me as her words sank in. Cursed. Zade had been cursed, and if it was the kind of killing magic Lynn was describing, he might not have much time left.

“Where is he?” I demanded, already moving toward the door.

“At the house,” Lynn replied quickly. “We had to move him there because the doctors couldn’t help, and we need to keep this quiet. If word gets out that the Alpha has been cursed, if the witch-hating factions in the pack find out… they might use this as an excuse to start a coup. They could blame magic users for what’s happening to him.”

The political implications of the situation hit me like a second blow. If Zade died, if his enemies could pin his death on witchcraft, it could spark the kind of supernatural conflict that would tear apart everything he’d worked to build.

Chapter 206

I have to go to him,” I said, not caring how desperate I sounded. ‘I have to help him.”

“Lyn, wait,” Lumina said, catching my arm as I tried to rush past her. “If this is dark magic, if someone cursed him deliberately, going to help could put you in danger too. Whoever did this might be targeting anyone who tries to intervene.

I looked at her, this woman who had shown me such kindness and trust, and felt my resolve harden into something unbreakable.

“Lumina, I don’t care about the danger. Zade is… he’s important to me. I can’t just stand by and let him die if there’s something I can

do to help him.”

Xenois stepped forward, his expression grim but determined. “Then we’ll come with you,’ he said simply. “If someone is using dark

magic to attack Zade, they might go after other supernatural leaders next. This could be the beginning of something much larger.”

“No,” I said quickly, shaking my head. “You need to get your family somewhere safe. Take Lumina and the boys back to your own

territory where you can protect them properly. This isn’t your fight.”

“Like hell it isn’t, Xenois replied, his Alpha authority making his voice ring with command. “Zade helped us when we needed it. He

protected my family when I couldn’t be here to do it myself. I’m not going to abandon him now.”
