“The human trafficking ring,” Lynn continued, her voice tight with anger. “We knew they were taking children and breaking them

down, but we didn’t realize they were rebuilding them as killers. Riley’s showing off combat skills that would be impressive for an adult.

The footage followed them into the office building, showing their desperate flight through the corridors and up to the roof. When

they reached the rooftop and found themselves trapped, I could see Riley making quick calculations, weighing options that no child

should ever have to consider.

Then Bullet appeared on screen, his gun drawn and that cold smile clearly visible even through the security camera. What followed

was a conversation that made my hands clench into fists.

“Give me the boy,” Bullet said, gesturing toward Ollie with his weapon. “Hand him over, and maybe we can make a different

arrangement.”

I watched Riley’s face change, saw the internal war playing out behind his eyes.

For one horrible moment, it looked like he might actually consider the offer. Beside me, Ollie made a small, wounded sound.

“You get to see your mama Sophia again,” Bullet continued. “She’s been asking about you, wondering if you’ve learned to be a good

boy yet.”

That’s when Riley positioned himself between Ollie and the gun. What came next happened so fast that I had to rewind the footage

to catch all the details.

Riley knocked Ollie unconscious with a precise strike to the back of the head – not hard enough to cause serious damage, but enough

to remove him from immediate danger.

Then he turned to face Bullet with a look of cold determination that belonged on someone much older.

“Actually, I’ve got a better idea,” Riley said to the gunman.

The footage became chaotic after that. Gunshots rang out, three of them in rapid succession. But instead of falling, Riley seemed to

blur with motion.

The camera angle made it hard to see exactly what happened, but Bullet’s scream of terror was clearly audible as something large and snarling entered the frame.

“Did he shift?” I asked in amazement. “That looked like a werewolf transformation.”

“Impossible, Lumina said immediately. “Riley hasn’t shown any signs of premature shifting, he’s FIVE for goodness sake.”

But the footage suggested otherwise. Whatever had attacked Bullet moved with inhuman speed and strength.

The man’s screams cut off abruptly, and then both figures disappeared from the camera’s view as they apparently fell or jumped from the building.

Ollie was watching the screen with growing distress, reaching out toward it as if he could somehow touch his missing brother. “Riley!”

he cried out. “I have to help him!”

I had to look away from the desperation in the boy’s eyes.

Somewhere out there, Riley was either dead or in the hands of people who wanted him dead. And we had no idea which.

“There’s more footage,” Officer Martinez’s voice came through the comm system. “From inside the hospital during the attack.”

The screen switched to show the interior of the hospital during the chaos. I watched Lumina fighting for her life against what looked

like something out of a nightmare – a nightwalker, twisted by dark magic into something that was no longer truly alive.

But what shocked me most was the footage of Lyn during the battle. I watched him reach out with his abilities, and suddenly gravity

seemed to cease working in the nightwalker’s immediate vicinity. The creature floated helplessly in the air for several crucial seconds,

giving Lumina the opening she needed to snap its neck.

“Gravity manipulation?” I stared at Lynn in astonishment. “Lyn can manipulate gravity?”

Lynn nodded grimly. “He’s always been able to do it, but he usually keeps it hidden. The power drain is enormous, and it’s not exactly a healing ability, so most people assume he’s just a medic.”

The footage showed Lyn collapsing after using his power, the effort clearly too much for him to sustain. But what happened next was

even more disturbing.

A figure appeared on the screen – small, child-like, but moving with unnatural purpose. The figure approached Lyn’s unconscious form and simply… pulled him away. The camera angle made it impossible to see clearly, but it looked like the child was somehow manipulating space itself, folding reality to transport Lyn elsewhere.

“That’s how they took him,” I realized with growing dread. “They have another child with abilities. Someone who can teleport or

manipulate space.”

“Andy’s operation is bigger than we thought,” Lynn said quietly. “She’s not just trafficking children she’s collecting ones with supernatural abilities and training them as weapons.”

The implication hit me like a physical blow. If Andy had multiple children with various supernatural powers, all trained and conditioned to obey her without question, then we were facing something far more dangerous than a simple criminal organization.

We were dealing with an army of child soldiers with abilities that could challenge even a werewolf pack.

And somewhere in that army, two of the people I cared about most were trapped – Lyn as a prisoner, and possibly Riley as a weapon

turned against his own family.
