His leg is hurting again?
Worry flashed across Noelle’s face instantly.
She couldn’t afford to delay any longer with the poison in Sebastian’s system. She needed to find Wanderroot as soon as possible and cure him!
In the study, Sebastian sat in his wheelchair, deep in thought.
His legs hurt so badly that he couldn’t sleep at all.
He heard noises from downstairs and knew Noelle was home.
He also knew exactly what had happened at Mount Emberwing tonight.
Elmer Kain had crashed off the mountain during a motorcycle race and was now on the verge of death.
Noelle had also gone to Mount Emberwing.
That didn’t feel like a coincidence.
“Sebastian, Noelle’s back, right?” Lucas’s voice came through the speakerphone on the desk. “Ask her about it! You have no idea–everyone in our circle is freaking out about this! A bunch of spoiled rich kids had their motorcycles confiscated by their dads!
“Just ask her, man. Ask her if she had anything to do with it. I just feel like there’s more to Elmer’s accident than meets the eye! And she was at Mount Emberwing, too–how could that just be a coincidence? If she really did it, she’s cold and scary!”
Sebastian answered flatly, “I’m not going to ask her.”
“Aren’t you curious?”
“Everyone has their secrets. Would you want someone poking into your personal business? And if she really did do it, so what? The Kains have always been heartless–she was just getting justice for herself.”
Lucas clicked his tongue. “Hey, I’m not judging. But you really do bend over backwards to

At the hospital, everything was chaotic.
Elmer’s leg injury was so bad that amputation was the only option.
“Mrs. Kain, you need to decide soon. If we don’t amputate, it could affect his whole body. We’re not just talking about losing both legs–he could end up paralyzed for life!”
Willow was sobbing uncontrollably.
“Or, if you can get the famous Miracle Healer here in the next 30 minutes, he might be able to save Mr. Elmer.”
“We don’t know any Miracle Healer! We don’t know anyone like that!” Willow sobbed.
“Mom… “Viola tried to steady her.
“Don’t touch me!” Willow snapped. “This is all your fault! If you hadn’t let Elmer go out, he wouldn’t be like this. It’s all because of you!”
Viola turned pale. She never expected Willow to blame her–how was this her fault?
“That’s enough. Stop arguing,” Gresham said coldly. “It’s not the time for this. Viola, don’t you know Dr. Hernandez’s daughter? Call her. Ask Dr. Hernandez to come. He’s a top orthopedic specialist. Maybe he can save Elmer.”
Viola hurried to call Felicia. Soon, Felicia and her father arrived.
But the result was the same. There was no way to save Elmer’s legs. Amputation was the only option.
Felicia remembered the time Noelle had saved that old man at the night market, but she stayed quiet.
Noelle couldn’t possibly k
medicine. It had to be luck.
Soon, the surgery wa
over, and Elmer lost both his legs.
Willow cried so hard she could barely breathe.
She stayed by Elmer’s side in the hospital. When the anesthesia wore off, Elmer woke up, saw his empty pant legs, and screamed in horror.
“Ahhh!”
