Willow and Viola were so angry they were practically steaming. Noelle had the nerve to ban them from entering the mall. Willow wanted to curse, but she never got the chance. Primo and Duo stepped in and dragged the mother and daughter out of the shop.

The mall was crowded, filled with wealthy ladies and young socialites. Everyone saw it with their own eyes–Willow and Viola being thrown out like trash, then taken away by the police. People started to whisper; the news travelled fast.

Their reputations were finished.

Inside the mall, Jillian kept apologizing to Noelle over and over again.

“This is my failure as a manager, Mrs. Menzie–no, boss! This is all my fault. I’m willing to accept any punishment.”

“Next time, make wiser choices when hiring staff,” Sebastian said coldly. “You can’t repeat the same mistake. If it does, you’re fired too.”

“Yes, yes, absolutely,” Jillian replied quickly.

Lucas couldn’t help laughing. “Noelle, you certainly play the part of a stern CEO when you scold your staff. Hmm, didn’t see that coming.”

“That’s right,” Noelle said with a small snort.

It was lunchtime; Sebastian took Noelle and Lucas out to eat. He ordered many of Noelle’s favorite dishes, hoping it would lift her mood.

By the table, Sebastian suddenly asked, “By the way, why did you come to the mall today?”

Lucas grunted cheerfully. “I’m here to buy clothes. Tomorrow is the last treatment session with Dr. Kain. I’ve got to take my shot and win her favor. She said I dress flamboyantly, so I figured I’d copy your style and blind her with my good looks.”

“Cough! Cough!”

Noelle had just taken a bite of BBQ ribs. She choked so hard her face turned red.

Sebastian poured her a glass of water and handed it to her. “Slow down.”

Noelle held the glass and took small sips. “Lucas, what did you just say? You’re trying to win over Dr. Kain?”

“Yeah,” Lucas said proudly. “Sebastian thinks we’re a perfect match too! Once I get her, we’ll be a group of four.” He rubbed his hands together. “I’m confessing tomorrow. Sebastian already agreed!”

Noelle fell silent.

Sebastian nodded seriously. “Dr. Kain is a great woman. You two suit each other well.”

Noelle puckered her lips; no words came out.

My husband is encouraging his best friend to confess to me. What am I supposed to do?

Damn! I don’t know what to do!

Noelle was completely losing it.

Tomorrow is the third treatment. Sebastian had already said she needed to be there. I had run out of

excues.

I couldn’t exactly split myself into two people.

What do I do? What do I do?!

She grabbed her hair in frustration. With no solution in sight, she gave up and went into the bathroom to take a shower.

Noelle had just stepped into the bathroom when Sebastian came in.

The door wasn’t locked. He knocked lightly and entered. The soft sound of running water made it clear–Noelle was showering.

He was there to deliver clothes.

Earlier that day at the mall, he had bought Noelle many outfits. They had all been dry–cleaned and sent upstairs.

This was usually a maid’s job, but he had chosen to bring them himself.

When he realized Noelle was bathing, the tips of his cars turned slightly red.

The wardrobe door was open. He placed the clothes inside and was about to leave.

Then he paused.

A familiar piece of clothing caught his eye.

Next to it lay a veil.

“Mr. Menzie, I’ve already checked,” Primo reported. “Mrs. Menzie did go to the night market about two weeks ago and again a few days ago. But no one knows what she went there for. May I ask why you suddenly wanted this checked?”

Primo told Sebastian everything he had found.

He was curious too. It was unusual for Sebastian to look into Noelle’s movements.

Still, that curiosity was not his place.

“It’s nothing,” Sebastian said calmly. “I just discovered something very interesting.”

He thought of the veil he had seen in the wardrobe. The corner of his cool lips slowly lifted into a faint smile. “That’s all. You may go.”

“Yes, boss.” Primo bowed and left.
