Chapter 49 Adrian’s Move

It was late. The wind outside howled like a freight train.

Adrian slipped into Anneliese’s bedroom without a sound.

His shirt was gone, tied low around his waist. He only had pants on.

He turned and rubbed his bunny tail right across her cheek.

Anneliese didn’t stir at first. Her nose wrinkled a little.

She mumbled, “Marshmallow? Mmm…”

Then she bit down.

Adrian’s eyes snapped open, and every muscle in his body locked up.

“My tail…”

Heat spread across his skin in seconds.

Anneliese kept biting, but there was no sugar in sight. She let go.

Adrian lowered himself again and nudged her mouth with his bunny ears.

In his old pack, biting a guy’s ears wasn’t official, but it always got things going fast.

It worked. His whole body started burning up.

That’s when Anneliese opened her eyes.

“Tail? Wait… Bunny? What the hell are you doing in my room?

“I didn’t invite anybody to stay the night…”

He pressed his lips to her cheek.

His mouth was hot and damp.

He held her tight and guided her hand straight to his chest.

His abs were firm but smooth. They felt unfairly nice.

Actually, every part of him was like that-warm, soft, inviting.

She could feel something else too. It was definitely pressing against her.

Anneliese panicked and shoved his face away.

“No! You can’t just crawl in here and expect this to happen!”

“What? Why not? I’m your mate! You’re my matriarch This is how it’s supposed to go!”

In theory, maybe. But she had four mates now.

Bonding order mattered. First Evan, then Hudson, and only then Adrian.

Anneliese jolted. Holy hell. His tail was twitching like crazy. It felt like a tiny, fluffy engine.

Adrian clamped his thighs together.

His voice got breathy and low.

He activated one of his power skills without even thinking.

Anneliese couldn’t wriggle free.

Her face got smashed into his chest. She felt every rise and fall as he breathed.

She looked up. His eyes were fogged over, cheeks flushed deep pink. Her body burned too, but she had more self-control than he did. She pressed hard on pressure points in her palm, trying to stay sharp.

If she didn’t, that warm grassy scent of his would knock her flat.

But after getting smacked in the face by that nipple over and over again, she snapped.

“Get off me!”

She yelled and shoved hard at his chest.

Her eyes sparked with rage. A glowing image burst from above her head.

A beast. Giant, green, fanged.

Adrian’s knees gave out. He hit the floor like a dropped sack of flour.

He let out a scream sharp enough to rattle windows.

Both nearby rooms lit up with noise and movement.

“B-b-big carnivore… please don’t eat me! Don’t eat me!”

He curled into a ball on the floor, hands over his head, ears pinned back. Only his tail shook

above him.

“I’m sorry! I’m really sorry! I swear I won’t try again! Please don’t eat me!”

Anneliese arched a brow.

Pathetic. Big talker, zero follow-through.

She sat up and wiped her face. It was still warm from all the raisin hits.

The door burst open. Hudson, Evan, and Rokky ran in.

Hudson and Evan froze in their tracks.

The whole room reeked of danger. The kind that made your spine lock.

He was dead serious. Loyalty radiated off him.

Evan ran to the window and threw it open, trying to clear the air.
