Chapter 155 We drink non–stop for an hour
Claim
Amelia Johnson saw Isla Shaw really heading towards Damien Taylor and panicked, quickly
chasing after her. But out of nowhere, someone suddenly stepped into their path.
“Isla, stop–watch where you’re going!” she shouted in alarm.
Too late. Isla turned her head just in time to look back, didn’t slow down a bit, and bam-
crashed straight into a solid wall of muscle.
“Whoa, seriously?!” Liam Taylor stumbled a step back, but managed to catch her around the
waist.
He blinked when he looked down at her, frowning. “Hey… you look kinda familiar.”
“p******?” Isla’s face darkened as she swung her fist at him.
Liam ducked just in time. “Hey! Miss, don’t you think you’re blaming the wrong person here?
You ran straight into me, and I even kept you from falling. Now you’re trying to hit me? That’s
messed up.”
Seeing sparks about to fly, Amelia rushed over. “Hold on, do you two know each other?”
“Nope!” Isla shot back instantly, her eyes practically boring holes into Liam’s face.
Liam, unfazed, gave Isla a quick scan before dropping a bomb.
“Oh! Now I remember. You’re the rice dumpling girl from the other day! I can’t believe you
slimmed down this fast–you’re like, lightning thin now!”
Isla looked like she was about to blow a fuse. But in the end, she decided this guy wasn’t
worth it. Definitely missing a few brain cells.
Excited, Liam turned to Damien and Brandon. “Girls these days are all about weight loss. We
should totally launch a product line for it and use her as our spokesperson. You guys
wouldn’t believe it–she used to be like, two hundred pounds. Total glow–up story!”
He was clearly already dreaming of business empires and billboard ads.
Amelia was completely confused. “Wait, what are you talking about? Isla’s always been
skinny. She was never fat. Are you sure you didn’t mix her up with someone else?”
“Huh? No way.” Liam scratched his head, giving Isla another look–over.

Isla figured Amelia cleared things up well enough, so she didn’t bother with Liam anymore.
She turned to find Emily Carter.
But just as she stepped away, Liam casually tossed out another line that nearly made her trip
over herself.
“Oh yeah, must’ve mistaken you for someone else. I mean, no way anyone could lose that
much overnight unless they’re, like, an alien or something. Hahaha!”
Isla shot him a death glare but decided to spare him since he clearly wasn’t all there.
Emily frowned slightly, eyes flicking between Isla and Liam, sensing the weird tension.
Right then, Arthur Blake joined the scene, walking up to Amelia with a warm smile. “Glad you
could make it. I just wanted to apologize in person for the misunderstanding earlier. I hope
you’re not too upset about any rumors.”
Amelia smiled back. “I never let gossip bother me, Mr. Blake. No need to dwell on it.”
A few more people joined the conversation about classical music, and things went smoothly
for a while.
Suddenly, Isla hurried over and whispered in Amelia’s ear, “Hey, can you come with me to the
restroom real quick?”
“Sure,” Amelia agreed readily, figuring Isla must’ve started her period or something.
But the moment they left the lounge, Isla burst out complaining. “That guy just now… he’s the
Taylor family’s young master? Seriously, is something wrong with him?”
She tapped her temple with a grimace. “He kept giving me weird looks. Totally gave me the
creeps.”
Amelia finally got the full story, wide–eyed in shock over their awkward history. Amelia
Johnson tugged on Isla Shaw’s sleeve a little. “Come on, Isla, don’t be mad. Liam Taylor
really didn’t mean it – he’s just careless sometimes, that’s all.”
Isla frowned slightly. “Fine. I’ll let it go this time, just because it’s you.”
When they reached the restroom, Isla waved her hand. “You go ahead, Amelia. My stomach’s
“But aren’t you supposed to avoid being seen sneaking out of the crew event? Maybe I should
