Finally, Amelia Johnson was home. Jessica Williams grinned from ear to ear. “Amelia, you’re back! Come, sit down. I’ll have someone warm up the mooncakes for you.”

If those mooncakes didn’t smell so awful, Rachel Williams would’ve gladly brought them out

herself just to prank Amelia and get a bit of payback.

Amelia replied casually, “Cool, I’ll go change first.”

Knowing how bad the smell was, Rachel was tempted to leave, but curiosity got the best of her. She wanted a front–row seat to see Amelia’s reaction. Gritting her teeth, she decided to stay and even shot a message to Sabrina Johnson to come down too.

No way Sabrina would miss a chance to watch Amelia suffer.

Seeing her daughter get up, Grace Williams had no choice but to follow. “But hey, try to keep

it down a bit, alright?”

“Mm–hmm.” Sabrina mumbled half–heartedly.

When Amelia came downstairs after changing, she noticed everyone had weird looks on their faces, clearly all trying to keep a distance from the two steaming mooncakes on the table.

Her brows knit together slightly.

Chive and durian? Was that even a thing?

Unbelievable that Jessica had actually made it. Did she really think Amelia would eat that

disaster?

A small smirk tugged at Amelia’s lips as she greeted Jessica and Grace, then took a seat

across from them.

“Hey sis, didn’t you say you liked chive and durian mooncakes? Go ahead, eat up! Aunt Jessica made them especially for you,” Sabrina piped up, eyes full of anticipation, clearly

itching to see Amelia squirm.

But something felt off. Why didn’t Amelia seem even a little bothered by that terrible smell? Amelia’s eyes flickered briefly as she smiled lazily. “You must’ve tried them first and thought they were amazing, huh? That why you’re so eager for me to have some too?”

Caught off guard, Sabrina choked a little. “Yeah, something like that.”

Amelia’s smile widened. “Then I’ll give it a shot.”

As her slender hand reached out toward the plate, the room went dead silent, everyone

staring, holding their breath.

But just before her fingers touched the mooncake, she froze.
