“What are you spacing out for? Come heal me already!” Ethan Collins didn’t even bother
checking the ID–he just charged in, weapon blazing. When he noticed Sabrina Johnson was
still zoning out, he almost swore out loud from frustration.
Snapping back to reality, Sabrina scrambled to heal Ethan’s character, but no matter what she
did, Ethan still got one–shotted.
The whole fight ended in under two minutes.
Ethan was so mad he nearly smashed his phone. He immediately pinned all the blame on
Sabrina. “What’s your deal? Do you even know how to play? I ask you to heal, you heal. When
I
I don’t, just stay out of the way…”
Sabrina felt utterly humiliated. She wanted to talk back because just now it was only Amelia
Johnson’s “Braised Shrimp” who attacked-“Sweet and Sour Ribs” didn’t even lift a finger.
Seeing Ethan still clueless, she pointed it out.
“What? That was Amelia?” Ethan looked stunned, but his face quickly fell.
Those two were ranked top one and two–it made sense he’d lose. Still, losing to Amelia and
Damien Taylor really didn’t sit well with him.
“My sister playing games married to some guy online… If Damien finds out, he’s gonna
explode. How could she just do that?” Sabrina’s tone was all concern, but her sarcasm was
obvious.
“Cut it out. ‘Sweet and Sour Ribs‘ is Damien,” Ethan snapped, looking super annoyed as he
stormed out. At the doorway, he shot back coldly, “Don’t bring up that online wedding again.
And you’d better uninstall the game.”
Sabrina stood there, stunned at his reaction. She chased after him, unwilling to let things go,
but all she saw was Ethan walking away without looking back.
Meanwhile, Amelia and Damien just queued up for the next match like nothing happened.
Beating Ethan and Sabrina didn’t even register to them.
Then, a new challenger popped up.

Amelia glanced at the ID–it was Ethan again, but this time with a different female partner.
The ID was familiar too–one of the top–ranked female players.
“If we win a challenge match, there’s an extra reward, right?” Amelia asked over voice chat.
Since barely anyone dared to challenge the top two spots, she hadn’t paid attention to that
detail before.
“Yeah,” came Damien’s smooth voice through her headphones.
“Cool, then let’s accept!” Amelia replied, sounding pumped.
Once again, Damien didn’t even need to get involved–Amelia wiped the floor with the pair in
under five minutes.
“That ‘ZZ‘ chick’s not bad,” Amelia said, being fair.
“Still sloppy though. The execution’s rough around the edges,” Damien commented dryly.
“Agreed.”
They were about to match again when Ethan challenged them a second time. Amelia, seeing
the bonus rewards at stake, didn’t hesitate.
This time, they lost even quicker–Amelia had already figured out ZZ’s habits.
But Ethan wouldn’t give up. He kept challenging them over and over.
So Amelia and Damien started taking turns handling them until the ten daily challenge
attempts ran out. Only then did Ethan back off–without a single win to his name. The game even broadcasted it in the general chat, congratulating [Sweet and Sour Ribs] and [Braised
Shrimp] on their ten–game winning streak as a couple!
Sabrina, who was grinding in the beginner village, saw it and instantly got salty. Who the heck
had the guts to challenge the number one and two ranked players?
new friend now?”
