Chapter 206 She’s my VIP guest
A week later.
The Mitchells were hosting a lavish banquet at a seven–star hotel.
Amelia Johnson had originally planned to come with Damien Taylor, but he got caught up
with something last minute, so she ended up coming alone to wait.
Right at the entrance, she bumped into Chloe Hughes, who was all dolled up like she was on
a runway. The second Chloe saw her, it was like she’d seen a ghost. She stretched out her
arm, blocking Amelia’s way with an arrogant smirk. “Well, well, if it isn’t Miss Johnson. What
are you doing here? No invite, no entry, you know that, right?”
Amelia gave her a quick once–over, lips curling into a faint sneer. “Didn’t realize you were on
security duty tonight, Miss Hughes.”
Chloe’s eyes widened in disbelief as she clenched her fists and hissed, “I’m warning you, get
lost now. Otherwise, when the real security drags you out, that’ll be a real scene.”
“Thanks for the heads–up. Now, move aside unless you want to take the blame if I trip over
you.” With that, Amelia made a move like she was going to push past her, which made Chloe
jump to the side in panic, glaring daggers at her.
But just as Amelia was about to cross the threshold, Zoey Mitchell showed up with a frosty
look. “I don’t recall inviting you.”
“I wasn’t counting on your invite.” Amelia sighed silently – just one pain after another today.
She was about to call Jack Mitchell to ask him to come get her, but the drama brigade arrived
first.
Sabrina Johnson came over, arm in arm with Ethan Collins, her eyes sparkling with
smugness when she saw Amelia being cornered. “Sis, why are you still standing outside?”
“Obviously because she’s crashing the party. No manners as usual.” Chloe piped in, finally
getting her chance to trash–talk Amelia freely.
“What? Seriously, Amelia, you-”
“I was invited,” Amelia cut Sabrina off before she could start her act, flipping out her phone to

But he didn’t pick up.
She had to settle for texting him, saying she was waiting at the door.

Seeing no one answer, the others all thought she was bluffing. They piled on with mockery,
their voices getting louder.
“Maybe go home before you embarrass yourself even more,” Sabrina added, voice soft but
full of bite. “If Dad finds out you barged into the Mitchells‘ party, he’d lose it.”
Amelia crossed her arms, staring quietly at her sister. Then she dropped the bomb. “You
should know more about setting Dad off than I do. Actually, I’m really curious – what tricks
do you use to smooth things over with him every time?”
Sabrina’s smile froze completely. And to top it off, she noticed Ethan’s gaze had shifted
he’d been watching Amelia ever since she showed up, and it was far from subtle. Rage lit up
in her chest.
“Amelia, did you come all the way here just to talk to Ethan?” she asked through gritted teeth.
Ethan’s eyes lit up. “Amelia, can we talk in private for a sec?”
Chloe’s voice suddenly cranked up a notch, catching everyone’s attention. “Wow, Ethan,
seriously? Sabrina’s right here and you’re still drooling over her sister? That’s too much. And
you, Amelia–if you’re trying to steal your sister’s man, then you’re seriously low.”
That accusation was so wild, Amelia almost laughed out loud. Now that’s some
Olympic–level nonsense. With a calm look, Amelia Johnson casually took out her phone,
browsing through it. “Miss Hughes, what did you say again? That I stole my little sister’s
boyfriend?”
Chloe Hughes now had the crowd on her side and her confidence had clearly skyrocketed. ”
That’s right! You took Sabrina’s boyfriend, and she’s pregnant now! How could you do this to
