hapter 30 Game
Back when Amelia Johnson saw Ethart Collins online, she’d always send him a team invite, even though he shot her down every time.
This time, Amelia didn’t bother and just hit random match to start a game on her own.
Once the round was over, both her teammates and the opposing team sent her friend requests,
And the messages? Full of enthusiasm.
“God-tier gamer, please carry this noob.”
“Are you a booster? Name your price, I’ll pay”
“Can you team up with me one more time? Just once!”
“Out of all the players I could’ve met, fate brought me to you. Don’t fight destiny-just hit accept.”
“You up for a 1v1?”
“Whose alt account are you? Mind if we be friends?”
Honestly, Amelia wasn’t sure why she was good at the game-maybe she just had fast reflexes and sharp thinking.
She backed out of the match lobby and returned to the main interface, spotting Sabrina Johnson had logged in too.
Sabrina and Ethan were both showing as teamed up-guess they were playing together.
Amelia had asked to join them before, but Ethan told her she’d be a drag, and Sabrina had said Ethan didn’t like girls who gamed too much. Since then, Amelia had been going online less.
Lately, the game had a promo going on where you could share an event page for rewards. So Amelia casually shared it with Emily Carter and Damien Taylor-since they were her only two recent contacts.
She grabbed the rewards and was just about to log off when a game invite popped up.
She figured it was Emily, but it turned out to be Damien.
She hit reject, then pinged him on w******p: “I’m logging off, let’s play next time.”
Damien replied quickly: “Sure. Rest up early then, see you tomorrow.”
Amelia noticed Damien’s game account was only level one, which was a bit odd, so she asked, “Was that your alt account just now?”
Damien: “Yep.”
At that moment, Damien was lounging in the second-floor living room of the old family house.
