Chapter 72 I don’t think I’m quite ready yet-1
Charm
Damien looked straight at Amelia. “You’re kind of a big deal around the University College Moon. Of course I know you.”
“Then… do I know you?” Amelia gave him a puzzled look. From what Damien had said in front of Jack, it sounded like they used to be close, but she really didn’t recall.
Damien said, “Sweet and Sour Ribs.”
“…Huh?”
“Your pen pal-Sweet and Sour Ribs. Ring any bells?” He locked eyes with her, voice steady.
Amelia blinked, stunned. “Wait… that was you?”
Damien nodded. “Yep, that was me.”
She sat still, trying to process it. “Okay, that’s kind of wild… Also, your pen name? Not gonna lie, kinda badass.”
Damien chuckled. “Nowhere near as cool as your ‘Braised Prawns.”
A thought hit her, and she asked, “Then why did you just stop replying back then?”
“I stopped?” Damien frowned a little.
“Yeah. I sent you one last letter before graduation. And then poof-nothing,” Amelia said seriously.
Damien’s brows drew together. “Wait, are you telling me you sent one?”
“Of course. You didn’t get it?”
“I did.”
“Then why didn’t you answer?” Her tone took on an edge of accusation, a little hurt slipping in.
“I did write back. Six whole pages, actually.”
“No way. I never got any of that,” Amelia was genuinely shocked.
Damien went quiet for a beat before asking, “You’re serious? You really didn’t get it?”
“I swear I didn’t. Why would I lie about this?”
