Reborn Second Chance With The Scheming Tycoon novel Chapter 92

Sabrina Johnson figured Ethan Collins must’ve just come back from the restroom and overheard their convo-otherwise he wouldn’t be acting like this.

“Ethan, I need to tell you something, but promise me you won’t get mad,” she said, tugging gently on his sleeve, lips slightly trembling.

“What’s up?” Ethan asked, looking at her.

Sabrina looked visibly guilty. “I wanted my sister to lose… so I tried to get her drunk.”

“Why would you do that?” Ethan was clearly caught off guard. He didn’t expect her to just lay it all out like that.

She explained, “She wouldn’t apologize to Miss Lee, so I figured if she lost the drinking game, she’d at least have to toast her. It’d be like saying sorry, in a way… but stuff didn’t go as planned. My sister kept winning.”

Ethan pressed his lips together, saying nothing.

Sabrina gently tugged his sleeve again. “Are you mad at me?”

“I’m not.” He shook his head.

“Miss Lee… she’s someone I really look up to. But my sister embarrassed her… it made things super awkward for me. I don’t want her to hate me because of that…” she looked heartbroken.

Ethan gave her hand a soft pat and comforted her, “She won’t. Don’t overthink it.”

Sabrina looked up at him, eyes sparkling with moisture. “You don’t think I’m a terrible person?”

He gave her a small smile. “You? You’re the kindest girl I know. That’s not possible.”

Hearing that, she flashed him a sweet, relieved smile-thank goodness she played it smart.

Meanwhile, Chloe Hughes grabbed a bottle of strong liquor and poured out two full glasses. Her eyes swept over to Amelia Johnson, filled with disdain. “Let’s go. You roll first.”

Amelia simply smiled and picked up the dice. “Alright then, don’t mind if I do”

First round: Amelia rolled a three. Chloe? Five.

Second round: Amelia rolled a two. Chloe got a four again.

Now it all came down to the third round. If Chloe rolled higher again, she’d win. But if Amelia beat her this time, they’d need at least one more round.

“Alright, fingers crossed…” Amelia lifted the dice cup cautiously. “It’s a six! I win!”

Chloe scoffed, “Seriously? Don’t get too excited. It’s best three outta five, in case you didn’t know.”

“Oops, my bad. First time playing,” Amelia said with an unbothered smirk.

That Apo

This round, Chloe rolled a three.

So the current score stood at Amelia: one, Chloe: two.

Grinning slightly, Amelia said, “You lost that one, so you’re up first now.”

Chloe picked up the dice cup, glanced coldly at her, and rolled-five.

She raised an eyebrow, cocky smile creeping on her face. “Your turn.”

Amelia looked a bit distracted as she gently rattled the dice cup and lifted it.

Chloe’s eyes widened. Another six?!

What kind of cheat-code luck did this bumpkin have?!

“Whoa, again? Looks like beginner’s luck is real.” Amelia smiled playfully and turned to Chloe. “Last round now, all yours.”

Final round. Chloe rolled a four. Amelia? A five.

“You’re really sweet, Miss Hughes. Letting a newbie like me win,” she said with that innocent grin. “This drink actually looks good… bottoms up?”

Chloe’s face darkened. Losing to this girl-of all people-really stung. Still, she forced out a laugh, “You’re new to this, and you’re Sabrina’s sister. Can’t go too hard on you.”
