Chapter 86 Morning
Damien: “I’m still at the office. It’s pretty late, you should get some rest.”
Amelia felt a tiny twinge of disappointment. “Okay, good night then.”
Damien: “Good night.”
Two minutes later, a new message popped up from Damien: “I’m sending someone to pick you up.”
Amelia’s heart did a happy flip. “Okay!”
Top floor of the Taylor Group building.
Damien closed the file in his hand and walked over to Amelia. “Ate too much?”.
Amelia gave a sheepish nod. “Yeah, I kinda went all in. Haven’t had stuff that good in ages.”
Damien: “Lemme check.”
Amelia blinked. “Check… what?”
He pulled her into his arms, pressing his hand gently over her belly.
Amelia instantly flushed, mortified. “You should get back to work, I’ll just wander around a bit.”
“Alright.” Damien leaned down and kissed her on the forehead.

Amelia looked up at him. “Don’t move.” Then she tiptoed and kissed his chin. “You’re too tall, I can’t reach your forehead.”
Damien bent his head slightly. “Better now?”
Amelia stepped back a few steps, grinning. “Go finish up, the sooner you’re done, the sooner you can rest.”
Damien watched her walk away. “Where are you going?”
“Just taking a walk, I won’t go far.” She waved over her shoulder.
Damien touched his chin, a smile playing on his lips.
Amelia strolled around the rooftop for a while-it was seriously huge. When she returned to the office, Damien had fallen asleep at his desk.
Running a company that big all on his own must be exhausting. Amelia’s heart ached a little. She walked over quietly and draped her jacket over him.
Suddenly, Damien grabbed her hand.
“Ahh-” Amelia let out a small cry of pain.
He let go in a flash. “Crap, you okay?”
Amelia shook her head and quickly hid her hand behind her back. “Are you always this jumpy when you

sleep?”
“Force of habit,” Damien said, gently reaching for her hand again.
“Ugh-” Amelia bit her lip.
He held her hand more carefully this time, frowning. “Still saying nothing’s wrong? It’s already red.”
Amelia tried to smile. “I’m not made of glass.”
Damien pulled her onto his lap. “How should I make it up to you?”
“Huh?” She blinked at him, confused.
Ctan
“I hurt you,” he said simply. With his line of work, always being on edge was something he couldn’t turn off.
“No need for that. It’s not a big deal, and you didn’t mean to.” Even if she wanted to hold him accountable, she didn’t really dare to.
He wrapped an arm around her waist, leaning in.
“Wait-this is your office, remember?” her cheeks turned pink.
Damien met her eyes. “That’s the best part about it.”
“What if someone walks in?”
“They won’t.”
Just as his lips were about to meet hers, the door swung open.
“Bro, you-” Liam stopped dead as if the world hit pause.
“I can’t see! I swear, my eyes stopped working! You here?” Liam squinted and waved his hands around like he was blind. “No? Cool, I’m out.”
He turned to leave, but Damien’s voice cut through. “Hold it.”
