Chapter 121 The Recording

Nara caught Adrian doing it from where she stood, and her fists closed tight.

Constance and Sienna finished looking.

Trevor asked fast. “Well? I told you she has a red-”

Sienna shook her head, disappointed. “There’s no red mole on Nora. I can’t stand her, but I’m not going to lie about it.”

Nora walked back over and looked at Trevor, cold. “You made that up to smear me, and it’s done real damage. I’m pressing charges. Slander this serious carries six months to three years.”

Julian stood beside her, and his voice was colder still. “Slander my wife and I’ll hire the best lawyers in the country. I’m sure a great deal more about Mr. Lane would come to light, and then it would run well past three years.”

Charges, and more than three years, and it came from a man the Lanes couldn’t stand against if they spent every cent they had.

Trevor finally panicked and pointed at Mandy. “She’s the one who told me about the red mole. I’ve never seen Nora’s body, let alone slept with her. Mr. Weston, let me off. Mandy set me up too.

“If you’re going after somebody, go after Mandy! Put her away for good!

“And I only came to the Wyndmere tonight because Mandy told me to. Nora never called me. She blocked me everywhere. I couldn’t reach her if I tried.”

Mandy hadn’t expected him to fold that fast, and she brazened it out. “You’re lying. You and Nora were in it together, going after the Weston money!”

“I have proof! I have a recording!” Trevor scrambled his phone out and held it up to Julian. “Look. It’s all Mandy talking.”

“Trevor!” Mandy lunged for the phone.

Nora’s hand came down hard on her torn-up arm. “Back off!”

Mandy clutched the arm and glared at Trevor. “I’ll press rape charges. That’s five years and up!”

But right then, her own voice came out of his phone.

“Trevor, perfect timing. I was about to come find you. Nora needs to see you about something.”

“Nora’s waiting for me in a room?” Trevor sounded confused on the recording. “What does she want?”

“That’s right. She told me she’s miserable in that house. Julian is dying and she’s a widow with a husband still breathing, and she says she should have run off and married you back then.

“She says she wants you to get her pregnant, and she’ll pass the baby off as Julian’s so it’ll be the next Weston heir.

Chapter 121 The Recording

“To make us believe her, she even took the Orion proposal out of the house. Go wait for her in 3208. My advice is to start recording the second you’re inside, so the Westons can’t put all of it on you later.

The voice on it was perfectly clear. Mandy was the one who had lured Trevor to 3208.

It lit him up. “Mr. Weston, there it is. Mandy played me from the start.”

Julian looked up, and his eyes landed on Mandy like a blade.

She shivered and set her teeth. “There’s a stimulant in that room. Nora slept with Trevor too./She must have!”

Sienna had no idea how the mole had vanished, but right now the only thing she needed was doubt in Julian’s head, enough that no trust would be left between the two of them.

Nora looked over at her, amused. “Sorry. There’s video from that room too.”

Trevor glanced up at her, and the look he got back made him shrink. He kept one hand over the cut at his eye and swiped through the phone fast. “There is. There is.”

Nora looked up at the 70-inch screen on the wall. “Cast it. Everybody gets to watch.”

Trevor had already taken a beating from her and wasn’t about to argue. He put the phone on the screen and found the video.

It played, and the whole room watched.

Nora pushed the door open, frowning, plainly confused. “What are you doing here? Where’s Mandy?”

What came next was all of it, the pregnancy, the Weston money, a hand on her chin, hands going for her

clothes.

And then Nora, who a second earlier could barely hold herself up, caught his finger and wrenched it backward. “Keep your filthy hands off me!”

Bone snapped, and the screaming started.

What followed was Nora going at him like a prizefighter, hitting him and not stopping.

Trevor ended up on his knees begging, and that was where he said out loud that Mandy had set her up.

Then Nora left. From walking in to walking out, the whole recording ran under five minutes.

A few minutes later, Mandy pushed the door open and went into 3208.
