Chapter 175 Trending for the Wrong Reason

now, Grandma,” Julian said.

Rosalind kept going. “She has no patience for misunderstandings either. Whatever comes up between you, say it out loud and settle it that day. That’s how she is. If she did something, she’ll own it. If she didn’t. nothing on earth will make her say she did. So whatever she tells you, believe it.”

Julian looked over at Nora and smiled. “I believe everything she says. Including what she said a few minutes ago. Every word of it.”

That put a satisfied smile across Rosalind’s whole face.

Nora wanted to sink through the floor. “Pour the soup already. Nobody asked for a speech.”

He had to go and underline it.

Julian opened the thermos and poured the chicken soup into a bowl. “Grandma Weston meant to come too. Something came up and she couldn’t.”

Rosalind waved that off. “Tell her not to bother. A hospital isn’t a place anybody enjoys visiting. I’ll go see her once they discharge me. And she shouldn’t have gone to the trouble of sending chicken soup either.”

Julian smiled. “It’s the least we could do. Nora and I have both been busy and we haven’t come as often as we should. Don’t hold it against us.”

The two of them kept talking, and Rosalind used the opening to steer the conversation somewhere Nora couldn’t circle back to the Snowbell Healer.

When she decided the two of them had stayed long enough, she shooed them out and sent them home.

In the car, alone with him, Nora’s face was still hot all the way to her ears.

She looked over at him. “What I said back in that room…”

“I believed every word,” Julian said, his eyes on her.

Nora had no idea what came next for either of them and no interest in a relationship, so there was no point in letting him hope.

Nora said it plainly. “I told her all of that so she would feel sorry for me and let something slip. Don’t take it seriously. I’m not in love with you.”

Julian frowned. “Nora-”

Right then, her phone started ringing.

Nora picked up fast, and Bridget was already talking. “Ms. Sinclair, we have a problem!”

Nora frowned. “Slow down. What happened?”

“The thing at Seacliff Lodge, where you put Gus in the pool. It’s out. The whole internet is going after you and Sabrina and the company.”

Hearing that it was the Seacliff footage took the tension straight out of her. “That’s nothing. Don’t chase it.

Chloe on the online side.

“Then get everyone ready. I’ll be at the office in 35 minutes for a meeting.”

Nora talked Bridget down a little, hung up, and pulled up the trending list.

Julian turned his head. “What’s going on?”

Nora was looking at the hashtag sitting near the top of it, #StarfallCEOWorkplace Bullying.

The word bullying always traveled fast, because plenty of people out there knew what it felt like.

The video under it was security footage from Seacliff Lodge, all of it, her foot on Gus and the kick that put him in the water.

One glance was enough. She locked the phone. “Sabrina and I are both trending. I need to go to the office Head home without me.”

Nora was out of the car before he could answer, and he called after her. “My PR team and my lawyers are yours whenever you want them.”

Nora didn’t turn around. She threw an OK sign over her shoulder, which meant she would ask if she needed

Julian frowned, then called Miles. “Find out who put Nora on that trending list. I want an answer. And have PR and legal standing by.”

Nora hadn’t asked for help, so Julian would let her run it her way. He would have everything ready anyway, so she always had somewhere to land.

Adrian called while she was on her way to the office.

“Where are you right now?”

“On my way to the office,” Nora said. “Why?”

Adrian sounded calm and warm. “I saw the trending post. I already have people working the comments. Don’t worry about it. None of this is going to touch you.”

He was working hard to settle her.

“Thanks,” she said. “Anything else?”

Adrian had expected her to be frightened, or at least rattled, with no idea how to handle something this big blowing up in public.

That was why he had called the moment he heard, and instead she was steady, without a shake anywhere in her.

“If you need help, call me,” he said.

Nora laughed. “The biggest help you could give me is staying with Mandy and marrying her soon. Then
