Reborn to Marry My Best Friend's Uncle novel Chapter 13

By the time Sean and Cecilia saw the posts on X, Annie was already in the process of moving out.

She had hired movers, packed up the few belongings she owned, and swiftly moved out of the Steward residence.

The car finally stopped in the underground parking lot of a high-end apartment complex.

This was prime real estate in the city center. The surrounding cars were all luxury vehicles that were clearly worth a fortune.

Annie couldn't help but feel a little curious. What kind of company did Christian get hired by, where the benefits were this generous and the staff housing this luxurious?

"Miss, sorry to bother you with this, but this underground parking lot is just way too big. It's like a maze. We drove around in circles and still couldn't find Building 3."

One of the movers wiped the sweat from his brow, looking a little embarrassed.

Annie had never been here before and was just as lost. She looked around, completely disoriented.

Left with no choice, she pulled out her phone and sent Christian a quick message for help.

"Mr. Parker, sorry to bother you. I'm here with the movers, but we're lost in the underground parking lot and can't find Building 3."

Less than a minute later, her phone lit up. It was a video call from Christian.

Surprised, Annie quickly answered, and Christian's striking side profile came into sharp focus on the screen.

He seemed to be in a meeting. Behind him was a minimalist yet luxurious conference room, with a row of men in suits seated behind him.

Annie froze for a moment. Wasn't this going to distract him from work? If his boss saw, it might leave a bad impression.

She quickly lowered her voice, worried she was interrupting his meeting. "Are you busy? Maybe I should—"

"It's fine," Christian cut her off.

He turned the phone toward himself and began giving her directions patiently.

"From where you are, drive straight ahead. Turn right when you see the sign for Zone A, then go straight for 300 yards…"

Following his remote instructions, they finally navigated the maze-like parking lot and found the elevator leading to Building 3.

"I found it. Thank you."

Annie exhaled in relief and sincerely thanked him through the screen.

"My wife and I also met on a blind date set up by our relatives. We were awkward at first, and now we've got three kids!"

Annie could only smile awkwardly at his enthusiastic chatter, not saying anything in response.

After seeing the movers off, Annie tossed her luggage into the spare bedroom and sank heavily into the couch in the living room.

She had no energy to care about all the discussions online. All she wanted now was to look forward.

After resting a bit, Annie got up and opened her laptop.

It had been two years since she had touched fashion design, and that was long enough for the entire industry to change dramatically.

Looking at her past designs, the ones she had once been proud of, she now thought that they were unimpressive and outdated.

And the few resumes she had sent out had gotten sad responses.

They were either ignored or outright rejected. She was not even given a chance for an interview.

That evening, she received a video call from Suzanna.
