Reborn Without You (Amelia and Christopher) novel Chapter 132

Chapter 132

He glanced at Amelia before looking back at Christopher. “Is it for Nicole?”

“Yes,” Christopher said, unperturbed. Turning to look at Nicole, he added, “Buy whatever you like.”

He would always choose to make Nicole happy, regardless of what it took. Whether it belonged to her or not, Christopher had the means to get it for her.

Caleb even made mention of Adelaide’s name, and Christopher knew clearly that this was the work of Amelia’s grandmother. In fact, it could be considered something she left behind after her death.

Despite that, he insisted on depriving Amelia of that. He insisted on disregarding her feelings.

“Thank you, Christopher,” Nicole said with the bright smile of a woman doted on by her man.

She then turned to look at Amelia, gloating, “I’m sorry for taking something you had your eyes on, but the highest bidder wins.”

Caleb looked apologetically at Amelia. “I’m sorry about it, Ms. Sinclair.”

His words made it clear that he was going to sell the vase to Christopher.

Luke said, “She doesn’t have what it takes to pit herself against you. You two are on completely different levels.”

To him, it was pointless to talk about who between the two saw the vase first.

“Ms. Sinclair, it’s meaningless trying to gain favor using underhanded means. Even if you spend all your time at home trying to be a good housewife and cook delicious food for a man, you wouldn’t be able to win his heart. Chris isn’t a shallow person. He knows very well the kind of person you are.”

His words were dripping with mockery targeted at Amelia.

Amelia had crawled into Christopher’s bed using underhanded means, ruining Christopher and Nicole’s chances of a beautiful marriage. Now that Christopher’s rightful partner was back, how could she usurp her position and refuse to go through with the divorce? 1

She couldn’t compare to Nicole at all.

Nicole was an academic success who earned a double doctorate from overseas and a strong, independent woman

of the new century.

A scheming woman like Amelia, only capable of playing petty tricks, was nothing compared to Nicole.

Luke had no idea how Amelia had the confidence to pit herself against Nicole. Did she actually want Christopher to hate her even more?

Amelia wasn’t affected by Luke’s words, despite the obvious mockery.

Christopher truly didn’t treat her as a person with feelings, completely disregarding her emotions and even humiliating her from Nicole’s request to shift her grandmother’s grave to snatching the vase left behind by her grandmother.

Also, she didn’t believe Christopher was ignorant about the fact that Tania was the third party in her mother and father’s marriage.

Giving Nicole the vase was akin to slapping her on the face.

Amelia took a deep breath and turned to look at Luke. “Christopher raised you well, didn’t he? He didn’t say a word, yet here you are, excitedly wagging your tail.”

Luke wrapped his arms around his chest and looked indifferently at her.

“Are you upset because I hit the nail on the head? Let’s go. There’s no need to waste our time on people like her.”

The trip to the art exhibition was going south.

Evelyn needed the washroom, so Amelia brought her there.

Evelyn was too young to understand what the adults were talking about, but from the looks on their faces, she could gather that they were bullying her mom.

At the wash basins, she looked up at Amelia and asked, “Aren’t you and Dad married? Why is Dad on their side when they’re bullying you?”

To a child, it was only natural for family members to help each other.

Amelia was stunned by Evelyn’s question and looked down at her.

Christopher didn’t even bother showing her basic respect in front of her own daughter.

She had hopes of bringing home something that once belonged to her grandmother.

Yet, he spent a fortune just to buy her grandmother’s ceramic vase for Nicole and heartlessly rained on her parade.

“I’m divorcing him. Once we get divorced, we’re no longer family,” Amelia said with pursed lips.

She held Evelyn’s hand and turned around, only to see Christopher standing behind them.

Chapter 133

Amelia had no idea when he appeared behind them.

She looked away, fully intending to ignore him.

“Are you planning to inculcate that in the child?” Christopher asked.

Amelia stopped in her tracks. The nerve of him to even asker something like that!

She turned back to look coldly at him. “That’s just the truth!”

With that, she held Evelyn’s hand and left.

Her grandmother never sold her ceramic vase, and Amelia didn’t know how it ended up with Mr. Newton. She might not be able to buy it right now, but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t have a way to get it back in the future.

Luke walked over and asked Christopher, “What happened? You took so long in the washroom.”

He followed Christopher’s gaze and saw Amelia’s back view

“What? Is she so shameless that she’s pestering you again?

Luke furrowed his brows. She was like a ghost, constantly haunting them.

“Nicole is practically an angel compared to her!”

Nicole never bothered fighting or competing with others. She exuded natural confidence and always looked elegant and poised, embodying the qualities of a capable woman. She was always adept at being friendly with

everyone.

Bringing a woman like Nicole around certainly gives others a good impression.

Unlike Amelia, that witch. She wasn’t just incompetent, but also scheming and petty.

Upon realizing that it was hopeless trying to win Christopher’s heart, she decided to run to Nova Nine and get hooked up with Jasper instead.

Upon finding out what happened at the art exhibition, Winona blew her top.

“Did that wicked couple install GPS on you or something? Why do you bump into them every day?”

Amelia put her phone aside, her gaze fixed on the figures on her computer screen. She said softly, “It’s a small world here in Northon, and there are only a few high-end places they can visit. It’s inevitable that we cross paths.”

They also worked in the same industry. Bumping into each other was going to happen more frequently than not.

“How shameless of them, acting like a couple in the name of being brothers. They really know how to play the game!” Winona’s head pounded with anger.

If one were to accuse Nicole of being a third party, she would turn around to say that she was just a good friend who grew up with Christopher. There didn’t seem to be a good reason to scold her.

However, Amelia didn’t call Winona just to complain about what happened. She returned to the main topic at hand.

“I sent you an email. Please print a few copies of it for me when you arrive at the office tomorrow morning. Inform the Technical Department that we’ll have a meeting at ten.”
