Chapter 131
Amelia turned around and saw Nicole coming up, her eyes fixed on the vase.
Christopher looked at Nicole and asked with a smile, “Since when did you start fancying things like this?”
“I’m always going around doing exciting things. I should take some time to quiet down and cultivate my mind.”
Just then, Luke walked over and was taken aback by the beauty of the ceramic vase. It was pure white in color, but the details were vivid and exquisite.
“You have good taste,” Luke praised. “This piece will elevate the style of any house.”
“Sorry,” Amelia said coldly, “but I asked for this vase first.
It was something her grandmother left behind after her death, and she had to have it.
Her mother and uncle missed her grandmother a lot. If her uncle could see something his mother had created previously, it would certainly help improve his mood and condition.
Her mother told her that her uncle’s health had been deteriorating ever since her grandmother left them.
“I’m getting this vase.” Nicole’s attitude toward Amelia had changed. She looked straight at Amelia and said, “My mom’s company just completed a project, and I want to give her a gift.”
Nathan grabbed Nicole’s hand and said, “Mom, don’t worry. You don’t need to say anything to her. She can’t fight with you over this. She doesn’t even have the money. Since you want it and Dad likes you so much, he’ll buy it for you.”
Luke burst out laughing and rubbed Nathan’s head. “You talk so well! You should talk more.”
How Amelia even managed to secure tickets for this exhibition was a question on everyone’s mind. They assumed she probably got it via some underhanded means.
“Ms. Sinclair. Their relationship is thriving, and Chris intends to buy the vase to make Nicole happy. Don’t ruin it for them,” Luke said.
Evelyn furrowed her brows and mumbled, “How uncultured.”
“You!” Luke’s face turned dark as he glared at Amelia. “Is this how you teach your daughter to speak to others? How ill-mannered.”
Amelia looked straight into his eyes and said, “It’s not your place to criticize my daughter’s upbringing. On the other hand, do you always criticize others to cover up your lack of class?”
Luke scoffed, but said nothing more.
Amelia was just trying to vie for attention. How would she ever be Nicole’s match?
“Mr. Newton is here.”
The curator brought another man over to them.
The moment Amelia’s gaze landed on Caleb, her heart fell. He was Christopher’s good friend. Was he the owner of her grandmother’s ceramic vase?
“Caleb?” Luke said with an arched brow. “You workaholic! Since when did you have the time to come to a place like this?”
Caleb pointed at the vase in the glass display cabinet.

“This is my father’s piece, and he specifically sent it here for this exhibition.” He asked, “I heard one of you wants this?”
The curator pointed at Amelia and introduced her to Caleb. This lady…”
“Nicole wants it. Name your price.”
Before the curator was done speaking, he was cut off by Christopher in his usual calm and collected manner.
Amelia turned to look at him.
Christopher looked straight at Caleb and said, “Contact Mr. Newton. I can accept any price.”
Amelia’s face turned dark as she clenched her fists.
He was willing to buy this vase for Nicole and make her happy.
He clearly knew that she was the one who saw the ceramic vase first.
Yet, he heartlessly chose to snatch it from her for Nicole’s sake.
If Nicole wanted to buy it by her own means, Amelia would have fought with her for it.
Yet now, Christopher was making it clear that he wanted to help Nicole purchase the vase.
If it ended up being a matter of the highest bidder winning, she would never be able to beat Christopher in this
game.
“I contacted my father when the curator came looking for me just now. The vase can be sold if the price is right, but there are many such ceramic pieces in the market,” Caleb said.
Although the craftsmanship was top-notch, it wasn’t an antique piece.
“However, this ceramic piece was crafted by Adelaide Mille. With her passing three to four years ago, the market price of her art pieces naturally soared and now has collectible value.”
