Chapter 138
Amelia didn’t know where they all went after that.
Nathan turned around when he heard the door open, and saw Amelia walking in.
“Come in and help me with this. Dad handpicked all these gems from abroad. After I’m done, I want to give it to Mom as a Mother’s Day gift. Dad said these things suit Mon very well.”
Amelia’s heart fell.
As it turned out, the handicraft was for Nicole.
She smirked self-derisively.
During this same time in her past life, they were already this close.
No wonder all the handicrafts seemed to disappear afterward. She was too slow and stupid in her past life.
“Time to tidy up and sleep,” Amelia said flatly.
Nathan did feel rather tired, and even yawned.
“Sleep with me tonight,” he commanded. “You haven’t slept with me for a very long time.”
If he were honest, he had to admit that he missed her.
“Go to bed first,” Amelia said.
Nathan did as she said, then looked at her. “Come back later”
Amelia said nothing more and switched the lights off.
After leaving Nathan’s room, she noticed a string of texts in her phone. They were all from Winona.
“A batch of new bags arrived at the specialty store in the neighboring city, and I decided to check it out since I had time. I ended up bumping into Nicole and Christopher. They were so intimate, looking so sweet and loving. Christopher really loves her. He stayed by her side every step of the way.”
Amelia smirked at the texts.
Were they on a business trip or a date?
“Whatever floats their boat,” she said flatly.
Amelia was deeply inspired after her meeting with Mr. Hale, and ideas just kept coming to her.
She switched her laptop on and dove straight into work. She was so focused and immersed that when she was finally done, she looked up and realized that it was past three in the morning.
Amelia put down her laptop and stretched her sore arms ou. She stood up and tidied up her things before going to the washroom.
Amelia took her time with her shower. When she was done she wrapped herself up in a towel and dried her hair with another towel as she walked out of the washroom.
Instead of heading to the master bedroom, she went to the guest bedroom. In her opinion, the master bedroom now belonged to Christopher and Nicole.

Amelia wanted to blow her hair dry, but realized that the hairdryer was hanging on the dresser in the master
bedroom.
She used to blow her hair dry and go through her skincare routine at the dresser.
Amelia headed to the dresser in the master bedroom and grabbed the hairdryer, intending to use it in the guest bedroom before returning it to the master bedroom.
Just then, she heard a door lock open.
Thinking that either Evelyn or Nathan was still awake, she turned to look out of the door. The moment she did so, she locked eyes with a pair of deep, dark eyes.
Amelia’s hand froze in midair.
She didn’t expect Christopher to return home so late.
It was almost four in the morning.
Wasn’t he shopping with Nicole in the neighboring city just this afternoon?
Her collarbones and neck were exposed outside the towel, barely covering her body. Her fair and dewy skin almost glowed in the dim light.
Christopher’s gaze landed on her.
Amelia stood stunned. She awkwardly pulled the towel up.
In the many years of their marriage, while they were distant from each other in the day, they were intimate in their bedroom at night.
Amelia had thought that Christopher was just cold and distant by nature. However, she also thought that if he was willing to be intimate with her in bed, he would one day fall for her.
She realized how foolish she was in the past.
“I didn’t know you’d be coming back tonight.”
They were about to be divorced, and the situation right now felt awkward.
Christopher listened quietly to her as she tried to explain herself.
“Right.”
He retracted his gaze and slowly unbuttoned his shirt, flinging it aside.
