Reborn Without You (Amelia and Christopher) novel Chapter 146

Nicole said, "She's pretty impressive. I'll pick a horse and race her!"

Be it horse-riding or rock climbing, she had a knack for sports in general. She even had a pilot's license and could fly a plane.

Horse-riding was something Nicole was confident in. She picked a horse and got changed into her equestrian outfit.

Meanwhile, Amelia galloped freely across the racecourse. After two rounds, she felt rather tired and dismounted the horse with practiced ease. She removed her hat and swung her hair out.

She looked charming, carefree, and unrestrained.

One of the stablemen whistled and broke into enthusiastic applause. "Impressive!"

Amelia simply smiled and said nothing.

A stableman led Hurricane to the side and removed the saddle.

Amelia looked down and straightened out her shirt.

Just then, Nicole and Christopher walked out of the dressing room in their outfits.

Amelia looked up and saw them at once. Her brows furrowed ever so slightly. Why did she have to keep bumping into them?

"Mom, I'm sure you'll look even cooler than that lady on the racecourse just now," Nathan said, his eyes filled with admiration for Nicole.

"Yeah," Nicole said with a chuckle. She turned to Christopher. "Chris, look if my hat is off-center and help me adjust it."

Christopher lowered his head and helped to straighten out her hat.

Seeing this, Amelia fell into a deep thought. He had never been this thoughtful and attentive with her. They looked just like a happy family of three.

It was exactly how a family should look. The cold treatment she and Evelyn received in the past was simply due to a lack of love on Christopher's part.

Amelia retracted her gaze.

Soon, the coach brought Evelyn to Amelia and said she did a great job.

Amelia lifted a hand and rubbed Evelyn's head affectionately. "Do you want to ride some more?"

Evelyn said, "Yes, a while more before we go for dinner."

Nathan keenly spotted Amelia talking to Evelyn at the entrance of the turf. He hurried over to them.

Nathan pointed at Amelia and Evelyn and said with disdain, "What are you two doing here when you don't even know how to ride a horse? Are you here to embarrass yourself?"

Nicole looked over and was surprised to see Amelia and Evelyn. "Mrs. Zephyr? Fancy seeing you here too."

Amelia didn't want to respond to Nicole.

Nicole rubbed Evelyn's head and asked in a friendly tone, "Are you here to learn horse-riding, Evie?"

Evelyn's brows furrowed, instinctively shrinking back from Nicole's touch. She looked up expectantly at her dad, who was standing at the side.

However, he looked cold and distant, fully intending to ignore her and her mom.

The stableman froze for a second. "You again? Sure! I'll see if you can tame Hurricane today."

Evelyn no longer wanted to stay at the turf any longer. She headed to the benches to grab her bag.

Meanwhile, Nicole stepped forward and led Hurricane out. She looked at Amelia and said, "Evelyn said that you know how to ride a horse. Wanna race?"

"That's not necessary," Amelia said coldly.

With that, she turned to leave.

Nicole tugged at the reins.

The force she exerted angered and frightened Hurricane. It lifted its fore legs, causing Nicole to lose grip of the reins. Hurricane started running wildly.

"Hey!"

Nicole grabbed Amelia out of fright, and the two women stood together.

Hurricane was charging toward them, although it was not clear which of the two women it was aiming for.

Amelia heard the commotion behind her and turned around, only to see Hurricane charging toward them. Her heart raced with fear.

"Watch out!"

A voice of panic pierced through her eardrums.
