Reborn Without You (Amelia and Christopher) novel Chapter 145

After breakfast, Amelia brought Evelyn to the outdoor turf.

It was the largest turf club in the suburbs of Northon, a favorite haunt of the elite.

Evelyn was passionate about the sport.

She used to just watch Nathan ride horses and never expressed her desire to do the same. The Zephyrs found it inappropriate for a girl to learn horse-riding or do anything so wild, which looked unseemly and unbecoming of a lady.

Nathan was the only one who got to do anything outdoor-related.

Now that Amelia had left the Zephyr household, all those rules they had set were rubbish to them. Evelyn was elated after her last visit to the turf last week, and was a very fast learner.

The coach saw Evelyn on the turf and brought her to practice.

He said to Amelia, "Ms. Sinclair, you can pick a horse and ride a few rounds with it. We recently renovated the racecourse."

Amelia nodded. "Let me watch Evelyn first."

She had to ensure Evelyn's safety and that there was a low risk of her daughter falling off the horse before she could rest easy.

Evelyn changed into her equestrian attire, her petite figure looking adorable all suited up.

Amelia sat at the side, watching Evelyn gallop on the horse.

Each time Evelyn rode past Amelia, she would flash her a bright smile and give her a wave.

She was very stable on the horse and picked up the skill fast. She was quickly becoming an all-rounded child who excelled in many areas.

Amelia used to love horse-riding, too. Before she married Christopher, she enjoyed the rush of being on horseback, with the wind in her face and the fresh smell of grass filling her nose.

After marrying Christopher, she gradually sacrificed everything she enjoyed just to serve him and the Zephyrs.

She hadn't felt like herself for a long time.

Watching Evelyn ride in the wind, Amelia felt the urge to do the same.

She stood up and changed into her own equestrian attire. When she was done, she headed to the stables to pick a horse.

"This is Hurricane, the champion of the last Northon Equestrian Competition. This horse is rambunctious and difficult to tame. No one has been able to tame it after its owner retired from the scene. Given its skill, it can compete on national and even international racecourses, but it's a pity that its owner retired. It isn't willing to cooperate with anyone else.

"Many people came, trying to ride it. Some were skillful enough and barely managed to, but the chemistry between horse and rider just wasn't there.

"Are you sure you want to try? It'd be impossible to ride Hurricane without some skill," the stableman warned.

Amelia looked so young and petite; she didn't look at all capable of taming Hurricane. He had to make things clear from the get-go.

Amelia patted the back of the horse and said calmly, "No problem."

"A lady came here a few days back, wanting to tame Hurricane as well, but she ended up almost falling to the ground. You've got to be careful," the stableman added.

"Chris, I must tame Hurricane this time," Nicole said, unwilling to concede defeat.

She failed to do so the previous time, but she didn't believe there was a horse in this world she couldn't tame!

Nathan cheered her on. "Mom, I know you can do it!

Suddenly, he pointed at a horse galloping down the racecourse.

The woman on Hurricane looked suave and agile as she steered the horse. Wind blew through her hair, her every move smooth as water.

Amelia was too far for them to recognize her.

"How impressive…" Nathan mumbled. "I feel like I'm at an equestrian competition. She looks as amazing as the jockeys on TV!"

Nathan pulled Christopher's arm.

"Dad, I want to get to know her."

Christopher saw the woman flying across the racecourse, and a smile crept up his lips. He retracted his gaze and said, "Sure."

All the stablemen there were dumbstruck by Amelia.

Nicole had always been competitive at heart, especially in such competitive sports.
