Chapter 204
Nathan scoffed and turned his face away.
With his backpack slung over his shoulders, he stepped into the school compound.
Seeing him leave, Evelyn pursed her lips.
“Evelyn,” Amelia said, crouching and looking straight into her daughter’s eyes. “If you don’t want to accept his apology, you can choose not to forgive him. No one said that you have to forgive others just because they apologized. He apologized because it’s something he should do, but it’s your freedom to decide if you want to forgive him or not.”
Evelyn nodded. “Got it, Mom. I won’t let others bully me from now on.”
She was very strong.
Even though she had been ostracized by all her classmates and had no one willing to play with her, Evelyn decided that playing alone was perfectly fine.
“Also, if you’re not happy in this kindergarten, you must tell me about it, okay?” Amelia pressed.
She just wanted her daughter to be happy as she grew up.
“I know,” Evelyn said, flashing Amelia her brightest, most innocent smile. Even her eyes lit up with joy. “Mom, don’t worry about me.”
Amelia pinched her cheeks gently. “Go on in.”
After Evelyn walked in, Amelia headed to Nova Nine to discuss Nicole’s onboarding matters.
“Now that we’ve firmed up the details, tell her to report for work the day after tomorrow,” Jasper concluded.
He looked hard at Amelia.
‘Are you sure you don’t mind this? The mere sight of her makes my stomach churn.”
“Look at the bigger picture,” Amelia said as she looked at the documents on her desk. “It’s just a designation. Anyone can fill it. Why pass up free 500 million?”
Since Christopher was willing to spend the money, it made no sense for her to reject it.
When it was about time to knock off, Amelia pulled out her phone to check on her property listing.
Seeing that there were still no enquiries for it, she frowned.
Such a great location, offered at such a low price. It was unimaginable that no one was enquiring about it.
Nova Nine was still not yet on the market, but its projects were large-scale enough. This year was about time for them to consider their financing options in preparation to be listed. They had to negotiate with potential investors, but no company seemed interested at this point.
A few hundred million dollars was nothing for a technology company.

Chapter 204
+25 Bonos
Christopher was generous enough to invest 500 million dollars for Nicole’s sake, just to boost her resume. The money could resolve Nova Nine’s immediate problem.
However, Amelia still had to sell her house. She needed the money in other places, too.
She called her real estate agent once more.
“Ms. Sinclair, if you want to sell your house, you’ll have to clear out the items and people still inside. Otherwise, we can’t bring potential buyers to view the property.”
Realization dawned upon Amelia. She had been so caught up with work, she had neglected the details in selling her house.
She thought that Nicole and Christopher would automatically move out of the marital home after Christopher transferred it under her name, but…
Clearly, they hadn’t moved out yet.
After ending the call with the real estate agent, Amelia tried calling Christopher to no avail. She tried many times, but the call never went through.
After knocking off work and picking Evelyn up at her kindergarten, she went to the marital home.
It was still brightly lit.
The people inside clearly had no intention of moving.
Amelia knocked on the door, which Nicole answered.
Amelia furrowed her brows.
Nicole was slightly stunned to see Amelia, but she quickly recovered and flashed Amelia a smile.
“What brings you here?”
Amelia had already divorced Christopher. Was she still trying to pester him? A pity that this place was soon to be her home!
Amelia wasn’t surprised that Nicole was at her marital home.
“I’m here to see Christopher. When will he be back?” she said calmly, her expression stoic.
Nicole crossed her arms. With the air of the mistress of the house, she said arrogantly, “I don’t know. You can come back again tomorrow to try your luck.”
