Chapter 220
The next day, Amelia didn’t attend Mr. Zephyr’s burial. There was no need for her to be there, anyway.
Rather, she had a brief meeting at Nova Nine’s office.
After the meeting ended, Josephine came running toward her.
She looked at Amelia and said hesitatingly, “Regarding how Nicole was fired, we do have some thoughts about that. After all…”
After all, Nicole was an outstanding figure in the industry. She would be an excellent addition to the team.
Amelia held her coffee cup in her hand and stopped in her tracks. She turned to look at Josephine and said flatly, “If you like Nicole so much, go ahead and resign. Apply for the company she’s in.”
Josephine smiled awkwardly when she saw how unbothered Amelia was.
When Amelia first joined them, they had some conflicts, which were eventually resolved. However, things were still slightly awkward between them.
Josephine paused for a moment before saying, “That’s not what I meant. I just want to say that some of our team members find it unfair. If you want to fire Nicole, at least have a good reason to convince everyone.

“Reason?” Amelia put the cup of coffee on a table and arched a brow at Josephine. “Anyone with eyes can see the
reason.”
Nicole behaved so arrogantly the moment she set foot into Nova Nine and refused to complete any of the tasks she was assigned.
What use was an employee like that?
Josephine pursed her lips. “Of course, I know that. You’re not someone who would allow personal emotions to affect work.”
Josephine used to look down on Amelia, but Amelia chose to be magnanimous and forgave her.
There didn’t seem to be any grudges between Amelia and Nicole, which made it all the more baffling that Nicole was fired on the spot.
“I was just worried that your subordinates may not be convinced by your actions as their leader…” Josephine trailed off.
Amelia was feeling slightly under the weather from being exposed to the rain yesterday. She rubbed her temples to soothe her pounding headache.
“Let whoever has objections about it come to my office to speak to me.”
With that, she turned around and returned to her office.
After lunch, Amelia and Jasper headed out to meet a client.
All the team members in the technology department had to do was focus on the projects on hand.

However, Amelia wasn’t just a core member of the technology department. She was also a shareholder of Nova Nine. She had to give her all for the growth of Nova Nine.
They were headed to a clubhouse. Their partner was already there when they arrived.
“Hello, Mr. Langley, Ms. Sinclair,” the bespectacled middle-aged man in his forties to fifties greeted them.
“Hello,” Amelia greeted him back.
After exchanging pleasantries, they went straight into discussing the partnership, which was the objective of their meeting today.
This was a company that supplied materials and was more affordable in terms of price.
The partner brought many material samples so they could make a more accurate judgment of how useful and appropriate they were.
They were satisfied with what they saw. After signing the contract, they started engaging in small talk.
“I heard you’re entering into a partnership with Infotech Group. Congratulations on that,” their partner said with a smile. “Megatech, one of Infotech Group’s subsidiary companies, is soon to be launched. Will you join the celebration?”
Amelia tightened her grip on the contract.
Megatech…
That was the proposal she had painstakingly drawn up years back for the company she desperately wanted to
start.
Amelia wanted to own a company.
Jasper said, “I haven’t heard of that yet.
“It’s just news I heard from the grapevine, though I think it is true. I heard that this company was originally meant for Mrs. Zephyr, but because her grandfather recently passed away, it got delayed. Or else, it would’ve been launched around now.”
