Chapter 178
John was basically telling Nicholas that he wouldn’t divorce Sierra.
However, things between them were already this bad…
If John refused to divorce Sierra, how was any of this supposed to end?
Sierra wasn’t someone who could tolerate a single hint of unfaithfulness. There was no way she would stay married to John.
But what if…
John had always been hard to read.
After turning it over in his mind, Nicholas pulled out his phone and sent Sierra a message. [Are you busy?]
Sierra: [What is it?]
Nicholas: [I suddenly thought of something. What if John refuses to divorce you?]
Even after the cooling–off period, if one side refused to sign, the only road left was to file for divorce in a court.
However, John had a top–tier legal team behind him. Winning against him in court would be nearly impossible.
Sierra: [?]
Then, Sierra sent a voice message. “No way.”
If they didn’t divorce, how was Pamela supposed to walk into the spotlight? If Pamela couldn’t do that, how could she ever openly become his wife officially?
Nicholas: [What if…]
Another voice message came through from Sierra, calm and logical. “If he doesn’t divorce, there’s nothing in it for him. He isn’t stupid.”
Nicholas fell silent.
He knew Sierra was one hundred percent firm about ending this marriage.
They chatted idly for a bit longer, then wrapped up the conversation,
After that, Sierra called Tommy. Only when she had heard his voice did she open her laptop and start working, planning to draw until four or five in the morning,
By then, it would be around noon for Jubilee. It would be just right to call her to investigate her.
The next day was the company’s anniversary celebration, and Sierra didn’t have to go into the office. She wasn’t too worried about being tired. The group chat had also announced that anyone performing only needed to arrive by one in the afternoon, so she could just head over at midday.
With that in mind, she dove headfirst into making money.
By around four in the morning, she had already finished two illustrations. Seeing that the time was about right, she sent Jubilee a message.
Jubilee quickly responded with a video call. The moment the connection came through, she said, “It should only be four in the morning for you. Did you just wake up? Or did you not sleep at all?”

“I haven’t slept,” Sierra answered honestly.
Jubilee paused. “What?”
She took in Sierra’s tired face on the screen. “Working late?”
“Yeah.” Sierra nodded.
“You didn’t believe what I told you last time, did you?” Jubilee placed her phone on the desk and set her head up with one hand.
Since Jubilee had brought the topic up herself, Sierra went along with it. “Speaking of that, there’s something I wanted to ask you.”
“Go ahead,” Jubilee said, idly playing with her manicure.
“Who’s my biological father?” Sierra asked the question from a different angle.
Jubilee froze. She remained in the same pose for about three seconds, and that reaction was enough to rouse Sierra’s suspicion.
Sierra quickly ran through everything she knew in her mind and pressed Jubilee. “Is it the man I sent you a picture of last time?”
“No,” Jubilee answered on reflex, without even thinking.
Sierra narrowed her eyes. “Then who is it?”
