Chapter 180
Jubilee’s reaction when Sierra asked about her biological father was obviously off.
There was no time for Sierra to keep digging into it.
Jubilee urged her to go to bed. “Alright, get some shut–eye. Think about it slowly after you wake up.‘
Sierra really was exhausted. She said good night and hung up.

After saying bye, Jubilee finally relaxed once the call disconnected. With all that pent–up tension, she opened Anna’s chat and sent a voice message.
“Are you still asleep, you idiot? Do you know Sierra almost tricked me just now?”
She knew Anna couldn’t reply.
“Good thing I’m unbelievably smart and caught on in time. I don’t care. When you wake up, you owe me compensation for emotional damage, or I’m never letting you forget this!”
If Jubilee hadn’t noticed something off in Sierra’s behavior, she really would have fallen for it.
Sierra was born after Anna and Lucas got married. Even if Sierra really did find out she wasn’t Lucas’s daughter, she would never just go to him and wave a test report in his face. She didn’t know the whole story.
If Sierra asked him directly, Lucas could easily make her believe that Anna had cheated or done something worse. Sierra cared so much about Anna, there was no way she would confront him before she understood everything.
Jubilee had almost let Sierra bluff her.
Even so, Jubilee was still feeling a little uneasy.
She decided to finish what she had on hand and then head back in a few days. If anything really changed, she could bluff her way through Sierra in person.
Sierra, meanwhile, had no idea there were holes in her story. Desperate for answers, she had gone straight to bluffing Jubilee with a result.
She didn’t fall asleep right away as she lay in bed. She kept thinking about Jubilee’s words.
Right now, these were the only things she could be sure of…
That her parents had signed a prenup, that every expense she had incurred growing up was paid as her mom’s compensation for helping her dad found the Bell Group, that her mom had known when Bell Group went under, and that she hadn’t been angry at all about Lucas abandoning his wife and daughter.
Everything else was still a mess.
When Sierra couldn’t make sense of any of it, she gave up for the moment. She closed her eyes and finally drifted off to sleep.
When she woke up, it was already after ten in the morning.
She grabbed a quick bite just to fill her stomach, then changed clothes and headed to the hotel hosting Origin Games’s tenth anniversary celebration.

By the time she arrived, people from her department, like Randy and Jenny, were already there.
When he saw her, Randy smiled and waved. “Sierra, come here for a second.”
She walked over. He was her department head, after all. She greeted them cordially. “Mr. Jenkins. Sis.”
“No wonder you’re the best person to represent our department. You really do look great,” Randy said with a smile, acting like the things he had said at the last team–building event had never happened. “Have you had lunch?”
Sierra answered politely. “I did.”
Randy glanced past her a few times, clearly looking for someone.
“Did you need something from me?” Sierra asked. She didn’t believe he had called her over just to ask if she had eatén.
