Chapter 276
“I confess! It’s my fault!”
The truck driver finally broke down, shaking in fear.
“It was Lucas! He told me to follow a pink car with a plate ending in 186! I don’t even know the people inside were yours! Please don’t kill me. I’ll tell you anything you want to know!”
The two bodyguards glanced at John,
John gave a slight nod.
They dragged the man back and threw him down in front of their boss.
“You know who I am, and you expect me to believe you didn’t know who was in that car?” John sat upright, his hands clasped together. The watch on his wrist made his skin look even paler.
The truck driver’s face went chalk white.
He was done for!
“You get one chance to tell the truth.” John’s voice was cool and distant. “After that, I’ll hand you over to those two. They’ll take very, very good care of you.”
The driver felt a chill down his spine.
Them… Taking very good care of him?
That meant getting chopped from one side to the other? Would he even have a whole body left after they were done?
He tried to appeal to John’s conscience. “This is illegal.”
“You have three minutes to confess.” John tapped the face of his watch with his right hand, his tone casual.
The calmer he was, the more terrified the driver became. At last, the man could not hold out and spilled everything.
“Everything I said is true. Lucas told me to follow that car, and he told me to hit it and kill the person in the passenger seat.”
A glint of coldness flashed in John’s eyes.
“You would do something like that?” The first bodyguard, Lance Wood, stared at him in disbelief.
“He said he had someone backing him, and that person would be able to free me.” The driver had completely caved to the pressure. “He also said she was his daughter and he wouldn’t hold me responsible.”
Lance couldn’t help looking at his boss.
As expected.
John was furious.
The atmosphere in the room was so frigid cold that ice could practically form.
“Send him and the video to the police. When you get there, tell the truth, and don’t try any tricks,” John warned the driver.
He looked at the two bodyguards, Lance and Forde Wood.
“These two have bad tempers. They might invite you out for dinner at any time.”
The truck driver burst out yelling, “What you’re doing is illegal!”
John raised his brows slightly, as if he had not heard him clearly.

Lance looked blank. “Illegal? How is it illegal?”
The driver glared at them. “You’re using vigilante justice!”
Forde frowned. “When did that happen? How did I miss it?”
“Mr. Henderson, I know you’re very influential.” The driver forced himself to calm down. He didn’t want to end up in prison. “If you insist on sending me to the station, I’ll tell the police what you just did.”
John lifted his eyes without hurry. His expression stayed mild.
“From the way they talk, I bet they have chopped plenty of people before.” The driver pressed on. “Do you think the police won’t look into that?”
Both Lance and Forde blinked.
