Chapter 282
Tommy was surprised at first, then glanced at his father with a smug look as if silently saying, ‘Mom is wishing for you to die young, too.‘
John caught the meaning in his eyes. Why didn’t he realize in the past that he had such a devoted son?
He let it go as he answered Sierra, “Got it.”
Sierra did not say much, either. After making sure Tommy had gotten up on his own, she went back to her room to wash up. Her doubts from last night finally settled. It had only been her imagination.
It was just the father and son in the hallway.
John was about to say a few words to the little traitor when Tommy turned and headed for the room. “Mom, I’ll help you find your clothes!”
John went quiet.
Ten minutes later.
Sierra finished washing up and entered the walk–in closet.
Seeing that everything inside looked exactly the same as before, untouched, a trace of doubt crossed her face. Forget whether John had ever brought Pamela here. What about the jewelry she had thrown on the floor and destroyed in the past? How was everything back in the cabinet neatly?
“I didn’t let anyone move anything. I was worried you wouldn’t be able to find your things when you come home,” John said. He had appeared behind her, watching her through the mirror in front of her.
Sierra paused, then stated a simple fact. “They have already been moved.”
“I’ve already replaced anything Pamela touched,” John said. His attitude was very calm, his voice low and gentle. “As for what you’ve destroyed, I had the manufacturer make the exact same pieces and send them here.”
Sierra turned and looked at John, his gaze deep and steady.
However, there was only a difference in her eyes. Indifference toward John, and toward all of these things.
From the moment she officially moved out, she had already let go of these things completely. She hadn’t missed them at all while she was gone.
She started, “You don’t need to do all this. We already…”
But before she could say the word, Tommy came running over happily. “Mom, did you change your clothes? Let’s go have breakfast.”
Sierra opened her mouth, but John spoke first. “Let’s have breakfast, then.”
Breakfast was tense.
Sierra kept her head down, quietly eating the food on her plate. She neither spoke nor looked up. John glanced at her from time to time, his dark eyes as unreadable as ever.
He knew exactly what she did not finish saying, and he also knew what she was thinking now. Before she left, she would definitely say that she wasn’t staying here tonight.
“John.” Sierra finally spoke.
John raised his eyes slightly. “Yes?”

“I’m not staying here tonight. After I finish Eden’s lesson, I’m going to the hospital to see my mom,” Sierra said. Deep down, she still felt a little uneasy facing him. “I’ll come back the afternoon after tomorrow to spend some time with Tommy.”
John’s expression did not change. “Ask him.”
“I support every decision Mom makes,” Tommy said.
John had expected that answer, so he had not taken part or tried to interfere from the start. He knew that once she decided something, it wasn’t something anyone could easily change, whether he agreed or not.
