Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 314

Chapter 314

The bathroom door opened with a click.

Sierra opened the messaging app, planning to delete any reply from Dr. Smith as soon as it came in so John wouldn’t see it. If he caught her holding his phone, so be it.

She hadn’t expected the top of the chat to show a message from Pamela instead.

John, are you asleep? I’m feeling a little sick.]

Her fingers tightened around the phone. She was about to toss it back onto the bed when it was taken from her hand.

John took it from her. If you want to look through my phone, am I right to think you want to make up with me, even just a little?

In your dreams.Sierra flung the words back at him and went straight to the sofa. She sat down and used her phone to message Dr. Smith about what had happened tonight.

She only hoped Dr. Smith would reply to her first. Once she had the answer, it wouldn’t matter when John found out.

John dried his dripping hair with one hand while scrolling with the other. When he saw Pamela’s message, he glanced at Sierra curled up on the sofa.

He typed back. [I’ll have the family doctor come take a look at you.]

Pamela replied soon after. [Okay.]

John passed down his orders along.

As he turned off the screen and started walking toward Sierra, a thought hit him. Sierra would never go through his phone while she was still this angry, unless she tried to figure out something tied to that anger with that temper of hers.

Like Tommy.

His gaze lingered on her, more thoughtful now.

Her phone buzzed twice. She picked it up and unlocked the screen in a rush, as if she were desperate to confirm something.

John took it out of her hand. Use your phone less at night. It’s bad for your eyes.

Give it back!Sierra reached for it.

He glanced down at the screen. At the top of the chat window sat Dr. Smith’s message. The first line read, Mr. Henderson had staged everything about what had happened tonight for you.

Sierra didn’t even manage to see who had sent it. She grabbed his arm and tried to snatch the phone back. John was so tall that even when standing on tiptoes, she could barely touch the phone when he raised it out of reach.

While she was stretching to get her phone, John used his phone to send Dr. Smith a new message. Recall the message you just sent to Sierra.

Even if Richard wiped the message from her phone, there was a possibility she could still see it if she logged in on a computer.

Having the message recalled was the safest choice.

Dr. Smith stared at the message for a second, puzzled, but did as he was told.

At that moment, Sierra finally managed to get her phone back. She held it in a tight grip and glared at him.

Whether it hurts my eyes or not is my business. I don’t need you to worry about it.
