Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 501

Maxwell said nothing. The answer was obvious, so he did not need to say it.

I’m talking to you.Cyrus did not like Maxwell’s attitude. Are you mute?

Are you sure you want an answer?Maxwell asked.

Cyrus fell silent before feeling annoyed. Nothing pleasant ever came out of Maxwell’s mouth.

“Your father annoys me, and now you’re doing the same thing too. Are you trying to make my life miserable on purpose?

Whether Sierra likes you depends on whether you’ve settled things with Aunt Anna,Maxwell said bluntly. He was not the type to flatter anyone. The King family protects its own. Of course Sierra cares about what Aunt Anna went through, since they shared the same blood and all.

That only made Cyrus feel worse, so he glared at Maxwell instead. With that mouth of yours, don’t expect to ever find a wife.

Maxwell said nothing.

Forget it. If she doesn’t want to call me Grandpa, then I’ll let it be. There’s still time. I can wait.

Maxwell finally gave him something nice to hear after thinking it over. The most important people usually show up last. What you should be thinking about now is whether Sierra calls you Grandpafirst, or Mr. Lynch Dadfirst.

Cyrus paused.

He turned and looked at Maxwell for a long time.

That was true.

Let’s go,Maxwell said. Uncle Peter is there too. If he really wants to stir things up, even Alfred won’t be able to keep him in

line.

He wouldn’t dare!Cyrus snapped.

Even so, he started walking faster toward the main hall.

By the time Sierra and Alfred reached the hall, there was barely anyone there. Only a middleaged man in his fifties sat inside, dressed in a suit and carrying himself with arrogance. The moment he saw Sierra beside Alfred, his eyes lit up.

He set down his teacup and spoke in a tone that was far too familiar. Where did this pretty girl come from? She’s gorgeous.

Sir, please watch your words,Alfred said with a light cough as he introduced her. This is Sierra Bell, Ms. Anna’s daughter.

So, you’re my niece.Peter looked her over with a leering look. Why are you just standing there? Come sit down and let me get a good look at you.

Sierra did not move. The instant she saw him, she felt nothing but disgust.

Joey was just as carefree, but there was something clean about him. He simply liked having fun.

This man was different. She could tell that he was frivolous and arrogant.

Why so shy?Peter got to his feet and reached for her hand. I heard your mother was bedridden for years after the accident. So how is she? Dead yet?

Sierra avoided his hand and shot back without hesitation, My mother will be tine even when your tombstone is covered in

moss.

Peter’s face darkened at once. Don’t you talk to me like that!
